About this listen

Jimmy Joste was a powerhouse in the oil and gas industry, but he was a weakling when it came to his gorgeous, athletic, longtime lover, Rhonda Glover. Addicted to her sexual prowess and madly in love, Joste gave her homes, cars, cash, and a $350,000 engagement ring.

Their 15 years of passion and excess ended the day Rhonda drove directly from a shooting range to the Austin home they once shared. After pumping 10 bullets into him from a Glock 9mm, she stood over Joste's blood-splattered body and shot him six more times, twice below the waist. According to Rhonda, Joste was violent and abusive and threatened her life.

Here, for the first time, are Rhonda Glover's shocking stories of drug-crazed devil worship and sexual perversity. But in a packed courtroom, prosecutors presented shocking evidence that beautiful Rhonda didn't act in self-defense - it was hot-blooded murder!

Justice in America for mentally ill

If you like your true crime books to dive deep into the American justice system than this one is for you. While the author has a very apparent opinion on the subject of the treatment of mentally ill within our system he does present alternative points of view. Half story-half exposition this book does outline the difficulty between punishment and rehabilitation.

Couldn’t finish it

I love true crime and appreciate the work the author did, but it was just so boring I had to google the ending. There was really no personal story. It was almost exclusively about the legal system and insanity charges. A lot of stuff was repetitive and I feel like I know nothing at all about the subject or victim.

this is a book about mental illness

an obviously mentally ill woman kills her son's father and is immediately arrested. so much of this is about her mental illness and Texas laws regarding being found criminally insane. there was no mystery here, no intrigue, no drawing the listener in. I doubt I will finish this - I am halfway through, still waiting for something truly interesting to happen. this is just a sad, clear-cut story ... anyone who knew her could have seen it coming. she is not particularly intelligent, or at least is not portrayed that way. very disappointing story
