In New York Times best-selling author Victoria Laurie’s newest Psychic Eye Mystery, Abby Cooper is trusting her intuition and heading to Sin City to bet on a friend’s innocence.... When police show Abby surveillance video of her best friend and business partner, Candice Fusco, shooting a man in cold blood, she can’t believe her eyes. And when the cops tell her they think the victim has ties to the Mob - and perhaps Candice does, too - she can’t believe her ears. Surely there is a logical explanation. But Candice is nowhere to be found.
Abby decides the only way to find out the truth is to go to Vegas herself - which may be the biggest gamble of her life. Once in town she begins to uncover a rigged game of dirty double-dealing where the stakes are no less than life and death. And if she’s not careful, Abby can forget about ever leaving Las Vegas...alive.

What did you love best about Fatal Fortune?
I enjoyed the narrator, and found the story's clever twists and turns surprising. I kept thinking that the story was so simple and Abbie too for not being able to solve it. But one by one, she fooled me when I felt Abbie was being obtuse.Who was your favorite character and why?
Candace is my favorite character, even though we never see her until the end of the story. Bryce and Dutch are both warm and lovable.Which character – as performed by Elizabeth Michaels – was your favorite?
Elizabeth Michaels makes a great Abbie. If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Who is driving that yellow Porsche?Abbie solves the case again

If you have been following Abby's story, then you know already that Candace has family ties to Las Vegas, and even has posed as her dead sister at times (mainly when undercover), and has a sleaze ball of an ex-husband. The man that Candace is accused of murdering comes from Las Vegas but his body was found at an airport parking lot in Texas! The entire act was caught on tape, and leaves no room for doubt. Abby secretly tries to find out and put the pieces together as to what is going on, but is quickly thwarted by her handsome husband Dutch Rivers, FBI. Abby is forced to lie to her husband and sneak off to Vegas in order to find Candace to once and for all get the truth from Candace herself.
The emotional trauma and turmoil Abby, Bryce, and Dutch go through while trying to come to grips that Candace would do such a thing was really hard to endure while reading. The betrayal they felt, especially Abby, because even though Bryce loved her he was willing to believe that Candace was guilty. Abby stuck to her guns on knowing her best friend, and not for one second believed she would murder someone in cold blood. Dutch was such a wonderful support for Abby about Candace, he just makes my knees weak. I love that man Dutch, he is truly the best fit for Abby! The sad fact about this whole thing was that Candace doesn't have any blood relatives in her corner. She is all alone in this world with the exception of her man, best friend, and her friend Dutch, three people that are fairly new to her life, and they make one hell of a family unit! Abby Cooper fans will not be disappointed in this new installment of the Psychic Eye Mystery Series!
Narrator Review
Elizabeth Michaels delivers another fangtastic performance in the Psychic Eye Mystery Series! Hearing Abby's voice come to life through Elizabeth is such a joy, and makes the story that much more pleasurable. I give you a hat tip and a bow Elizabeth, thank you!

It starts with Candice (aka Cassidy) being accused of cold-blooded murder. We do not see Candice for much of this book which would normally put me off. Not this time around. The storyline was well constructed and kept me interested and wondering "who dunnit?".
I felt so sorry for Brice as he wondered whether or not the love of his life was a murderer. You could feel his pain. I personally felt Abby's fear that even though she trusted Candice, her BFF, she didn't know if the person she thought she knew was real or not. Had Candice pulled the wool over everyone's eyes and is really a wolf dressed in sheep's clothing?
Most of all, I always feel sorry for Dutch, because he cannot trust Abby to tell him the truth half the time - LOL! Abby is such a bad liar that Dutch always knows when she is fibbing and always worried because she seems to get herself in so much trouble.
I don't want to add spoilers, so I'll stop here with my description of the book.
If you like the other books in this series, you will definitely like this book.
