As an author, words have always been my escape. In my mind, I've lived the many versions of happily ever afters I've written for the world to listen to. I've created swoon-worthy men who would do anything for the women they love. The worlds I've created have left women wishing the stories I've penned were real.

Yet my life outside the pages is void of romance and dictated by fear—something I have in abundance while my trust is scarce. I'm terrified of the horrors that could break me and avoid them at all costs.
But he found me anyway.

I imagine he's every hero I've ever written. I feel him in my bones, and I see him in my dreams. It's as if I was manifesting him into my life all along. He's kind, sexy, and smart—and I deserve to be cherished by him.

Although this book was number four in this series and I haven't read the first three, I was entertained by this story. I liked this story which was based on the trope of souls that were fated to be together; however, there were some rocky times in Jude and Tannen's relationship which made the story more realistic. I appreciated Tannen's career as a romance writer. I admired Jude's career as a police officer. I enjoyed their topsy-turvy romance. There were some descriptive steamy scenes. I thought Savannah Thomas' and Christian Leatherman's dual narrations enhanced the story's entertainment. I was given a copy of the audiobook. I volunteered, without financial gain, to post this review which reflected my honest opinions regarding this audiobook.

I must say it was refreshing to follow a realistic journey in a book. While I do love me some steamy romance, we all know the outcomes are predictable. Tannen suffered a traumatic event that’s she’s tried to overcome for years alone. She meets the perfect guy while she wasn’t even looking. The question is, will she let him in? Besides her trauma she has a career she loves and excels at, supportive best friends and family and a high strung cat who is also a main character. All in all I enjoyed Tannen and Jude’s journey. I’ve been reading since childhood but recently fell in love with audiobooks. What kept me from giving this 5 stars was because the male reader constantly takes a deep breath that was extremely distracting. The female reader was really good.

Gorgeous policeman Jude is sick of the dating scene and ready to settle down.
If only he could find that perfect woman that “gets him” and wants to be his forever person.
Tannon, single and just the way she likes it has far too much baggage for a partner to deal with.
Or so she thinks.
Fate intervenes and these two keep finding themselves in each other’s company.
Their attraction to each other is off the charts and eventually they succumb.
The passion is definitely there but a few rocky moments and a little bit of jealousy could spell disaster for them.
Can Tannon open up and reveal all to Jude? Or will she walk away?
Knowing how he feels about her can Jude just let her go if that is what she chooses?
An amazing series and another story of Ellie’s that was so emotional and beautifully written with some steamy scenes along the way.
I’m really looking forward to the next story.
The audiobook narrators Savannah Thomas and Christian Leatherman were fantastic, I loved their voices. They made me feel all the angst and emotion of this wonderful story.
