About this listen

From New York Times best-selling author Jeff Abbott...

Everyone has a memory they'd like to forget. For federal witness Miles Kendrick, it's the shootout that left his best friend dead - and Miles a hunted and haunted man. While helping his psychiatrist with a mysterious favor, Miles stumbles upon an illegal research program that could free him - and millions of others with post-traumatic stress disorder - from crippling memories. But when his doctor ends up dead, Miles must run for his life from a murderous conspiracy that gives new meaning to the word "fear."

Great story, terrible narrator

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would only recommend this book for a friend if it was narrated by someone else. The narrator kept switching voices he used for the different characters, which made following some of the dialogue very confusing. The story itself was great!

How could the performance have been better?

The performance would have been better if the narrator consistently used the same voice for each character. He would use one tone of voice for a certain character, only to then use it for a different character later in the book, and change the voice of the original character. I almost stopped listening to this story because the narrator was awful. However, the story itself is great, and I'm glad that I made it all the way through.

Any additional comments?

It may be better to just read this book unless you can find it narrated by someone else.

I should have returned it after the first hour...

I listened all the way to the end. Definitely one for others to take a pass on. The story wasn't that great and the narrator, who I'm sure is a nice guy, was NOT a good narrator. I kept trying to imagine whether someone like Scott Brick or Dick Hill could have improved this story... And they would have been more enjoyable to listen to but the story... wasn't going to become better. Sorry to leave such a negative review.
