About this listen

My mother trained me to be numb.

To keep my volatile emotions carefully locked away.

But when my drug-addicted stepfather decides to clear his debt by offering my sister to the Ruthless Mafia Men that run our city, I have no choice but to react.

Keeping her safe is the only thing I've ever been good at. And, unlike her, I've already been scarred by the cruelties of our world.

So I did the only thing I could do, the only thing that would ensure that they'd never go looking for her. I offered myself to big bad wolves instead.

I expected the Reapers to be cruel, to push me beyond my limits, and test me at every turn.

What I didn't expect was to like it.

Atlas, their powerful leader, knows I don't belong in their world, but he's too caught up in protecting his own secrets to save me. I can see the regret in his eyes every time he looks at me.

Ezra, the overly affectionate psycho, looks at me like he wants to eat me—or kill me. Honestly, it's probably a mix of both. And the scariest thing about him is that he doesn't really scare me at all.

Cyrus, the Ducati-riding bad boy, is tempting as hell, and he knows it. I refuse to give into his charm, even if he has treated me better than anyone ever has before.

Tristan, the grumpy and silent one, might actually hate me. But I don't blame him. Out of everyone, he's the only one who can see how messed up I really am at my core.

The men who accepted me as payment for a debt are toying with my head and my heart, but no matter what happens next, there's no turning back.

I dug my grave with the Reapers of Caspian Hills, and now it's time to lie in it.

Fear The Reapers is book one in Lovesick Villains, a dark mafia series where our heroine will end up with multiple love interests. This book ends on a mild cliffhanger, and their story will end with a HEA in book three.

Intended for mature listeners.

Great Story! Great Narration!

This story was a sexy Beauty and the Beasts thrill ride with the Reaper gang being the beasts and Stevie being the beauty. I already thought of Nikki Monroe as the best female narrator I've listened too and thought she couldn't get better as a narrator, but somehow she did it, and really brought Stevie and all the characters to life even more than usual. Corvin Kink is a new narrator to me and did a great job as the Reaper gang and paired well with Nikki Monroe.
This is also the first story by Jessa Halliwell I've listened to. I will listen to the next in this series and more as soon as I can.
I highly recommend listening to Fear the Reapers Lovesick Villains, Book 1. It was well worth the credit.

Really enjoyed but not paying full price for a book 1/3 of normal length

First time listening to something from this author. I enjoyed the book but it felt a little rushed to end. I wouldn’t mind continuing the series if they weren’t charging full price for a a book 1/3 of normal length of others that cost the same.

All 3 books in the series could have been released together as 1 full book and I would have absolutely paid for it. Releasing it as one full book would have also helped it not feel so rushed.

I liked the narrators and generally only get books with dual narrations which is how I found and gave this author a try.

I’ll keep an eye out and hopefully they’ll put the other books on sale so I can finish the series before I forget about it or find other full length series.

Good Story

I enjoyed the story and the development of the characters. I, however, think different narrators would make listening to it better.

The narrators were amazing!

Loved the narration on this book and the plot was decent but the twist at the end was confusing not enough back story to make the plot seem to work and a lot of unexplained holes. Overall though I loved the relationships between the brothers and Stevie.

Misguided

This book was all over the place. The narration was good but the story itself was off to me. It felt pushed and without giving any spoilers it was a literal repeat of what I feel I’ve read in other books to the T. It didn’t seem original to me. I’m not sure why it’s mafia either. Anyway I won’t bore you, I finished the book because I do not like to DNF books but I won’t read the other books in this series.

I would listen to Corvin King reciting the ABC's!!

Good listen. steamy scenes were good, but I wanted more. Def on to book 2 to see what happens next! I live for reverse harems, dark, mafia romance! And Corvin... call me!! lol

A bit crazy and wild

I went into this book thinking one thing, but it ended up not being what I expected? I feel like the plot was a little muddy and all over the place at times I would have liked for there to be a little more backstory for how the reapers got to be so powerful. There were a few scenes that felt a bit unnecessary. However, the narration was great which is to be expected from Corvin King. I'm still unsure as to whether I'll be continuing the series!
