About this listen

Contract killer. Adopted daughter. Sarcastic soul.

There are a lot of things to call me, but most just call me Rogue. A name feared by the truly unforgivable who betray The Gambit, our leader King, and our extensive criminal network. After all, I may run the hit men for the crew, but I personally only take on those who deserve it. I do have some morals left. When I’m tracked down by a security team that wants me on its side, it’s an easy choice to unite and attempt to take down their corrupt bosses, and mine, too. So long as they’re willing to help me in return. Let’s just hope we don’t become the pawns in a game none of us were prepared to play.

The Secrets We Keep is a full-length reverse-harem novel and is book one of the Maven of Mayhem series. It ends on a cliff-hanger, so please be forewarned. It also features M/M building throughout the series, past trauma in flashbacks, as well as some steamy scenes.

Looking forward to the next!

This was definitely entertaining. I was expecting a dark romance but it’s actually a romantic comedy. There were laugh out lines in this one for sure. I think my favorite was children being described as “crotch goblins.” I had to pause and tell my husband that joke! I loved all the male characters. Each is unique and has depth.
I found the ending to be abrupt. It needed some sort of closure or segue to the next book, IMO. The epilogue, while hilarious, was puzzling. I’m not sure how it serves this story.
There is no MM action (disappointing!) but there is attraction so hopefully it will blossom in the next installment.
Narration was really great all around. I am impressed with the nuances Lance gave to each male character. That kind of performance makes all the difference! Great job!

We meet Rogue...

I absolutely love Rogue's strong female lead, toughness and overall bad-assery. She's smooth in her field as an assassin and quite funny. I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know her along with her boys.
I found this book series by following Lance Greenfield as a narrator from another book he had done. I'm very glad I did, he did a phenomenal job in this book of playing 4 very different men with personality and accents for each. This is the first time that I've listened to Kelsey Navarro and got along well with her being the main point of the story and her ability to play many different moods and scenarios.
