About this listen

Beth Moore is widely known and respected as an engaging and effective speaker, Bible teacher, and best-selling author.

Feathers from My Nest reveals a more contemplative and personal side of Beth, very much in the spirit of her work, Things Pondered. Feathers from My Nest is a collection of vignettes, as Beth reflects on items belonging to her daughters who have left the nest for college. As she ponders each item, rich in memories, Beth draws from it spiritual significance. This title not only gently tugs on the sentimental heartstrings of parents, it also reminds us all of the gift of grace children offer our lives everyday.

Just Okay

I really like Beth Moore. She is a great writer, speaker, and from what I can tell, great Christian woman also. If I review this book as just an overview of her motherhood, I would say it's good. I do not regret the time listening, I was moved at times, and enjoyed. However, if this book is meant to help and encourage mothers and wives, it did not really do that for me. Though she says that if she and her family can have what they have, anyone can, I never felt that from the reading\listening. Oh I have great faith also, and have been praying for a long time daily much like she mentions in her book that she did. I know I can have a great family with God in it. I don't doubt a bit of what she says. I suppose the issue is that I never really felt it. Actually she had a way of leaving me with a feeling of inferiority rather than a motherly kinship.

Laughter and tears!

As a mother of two daughters, I could really relate to so many of the sisterly antics Beth shared about her girls. I laughed out loud as I listened, driving down the highway, but I also shed a few tears. For I am at that similar stage in life where my last baby bird is graduating college in a couple of weeks, getting a "real" job, and leaving the nest for good. Perfect timing for this book! :)

Lots of great takeaways

I enjoyed the personal examples and helpful tips in this book. I also enjoyed hearing her read it, as the emotion in her voice made it all the more powerful.

Loved it!

If you could sum up Feathers from My Nest in three words, what would they be?

Every mom goes through this phase in her life. It was very reassuring to have this resource. Thanks Beth!

What does the narrator bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I loved hearing Beth's own voice.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

yes...

Any additional comments?

Sweet and Encouraging

Beth did an awesome job at helping Mom's, but not only Mom's to look at and realize the blessing of the precious gift of family!

Beth Moore's personal story with many inspirations

What made the experience of listening to Feathers from My Nest the most enjoyable?

After doing other of Beth's studies, this book made her so real to me as a person.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Parts made me laugh as she shared many stories, but there were also many very serious sections as she told her personal experiences.

Any additional comments?

I only wish it had been longer. I did not want it to end.

Delightful!

I laughed and was brought to tears. This book is a great reminder of the “little” things that actually are big things where God is concerned. Very grateful to the Moore family for giving us an inside look at real life!

Too pretentious!

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

Mothers of young girls only.

What do you think your next listen will be?

Not sure

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of the narrator?

Not sure but hated this one! Too arrogant for the message of the book. Sounded like a very arrogant mom who could not relate to anyone else. Sounded very self absorbed.

Any additional comments?

This book provided nothing for me. I couldn't get passed the arrogance in the narraroror's voice.
