From “the next major voice in Southern fiction” (Elin Hilderbrand) and the best-selling author of the Peachtree Bluff series comes an odd-couple tale of friendship that asks just how much our past choices define our happiness.

It’s summertime on the North Carolina coast and the livin’ is easy.

Unless, that is, you’ve just lost your mother to cancer, your sister to her extremist husband, and your husband to his executive assistant. Meet Gray Howard. Right when Gray could use a serious infusion of good karma in her life, she inadvertently gets a stranger, Diana Harrington, fired from her job at the local pharmacy.

Diana Harrington’s summer isn’t off to the greatest start either: Hours before losing her job, she broke up with her boyfriend and moved out of their shared house with only a worn-out Impala for a bed. Lucky for her, Gray has an empty guest house and a very guilty conscience.

With Gray’s kindness, Diana’s tide begins to turn. But when her first love returns, every secret from her past seems to resurface all at once. And, as Gray begins to blaze a new trail, she discovers, with Diana’s help, that what she envisioned as her perfect life may not be what she wants at all.

In her warmest, wisest novel yet, Kristy Woodson Harvey delivers a discerning portrait of modern womanhood through two vastly different lenses. Feels Like Falling is a beach bag essential for Harvey fans - and for a new generation of listeners.

This is my first book by this author, and I loved it. I loved the friendships between Gray, Diana, and Marcy and how the three women had such a solid bond. Gray and Marcy were friends for years, then Gray and Diana meet at the perfect time, in a not so perfect way. All three women ended up being more like sisters and I loved that! I’ve had a friend like that since I was young and so I connected with them right away.

Then Gray’s sister Quinn is introduced. I absolutely loved Gray, Marcy and Diana. But to me, Quinn was the most interesting character, even though she had the least amount of time in the book. I loved how she grew as a person and sister.

The men in the book were great characters too although it took a very long time for me to change my mind about Greg.

I also enjoyed learning about the relationship between Diana and her brother. Very touching! But Diana and Frank’s relationship? Now that was an amazing story inside of an amazing story!

I loved the descriptions of Cape Carolina! It sounds like my kind of place.

The narration was perfect. Both Kelsey Navarro and Amanda Ronconi did an excellent job.

This was a book that I didn’t want to end. I can’t recommend it enough!

Wonderful Story!

I usually don’t take the time to write a review. Usually I write a review if it’s really bad or really good. This one was really good. Also, I rarely give 5 stars. I gave this one 5 stars.
It was an easy listening, happily ever after book. If you’re into sci-fi, blood and guts, westerns, suspense, paranormal, you won’t like it and that’s okay. Everyone has their own taste. But I enjoyed it tremendously.
That’s the thing about rating a book. No one has the same taste, so you can’t always go by the ratings.

I loved this book

I actually hid in our master bath to finish this book..with a large glass of wine...I have two girls under 3 and my mother in law was recently visiting. I could not get enough and also didn’t want the book to end. Kristy has a true gift of depicting characters we know and can relate to. They are us.

Didn’t want the book to end!

First and foremost, the narration in this novel is utterly fantastic! She’s got accents, cadence, and content down perfectly for each character. Beyond that, I delighted in this warm, frothy, clever,"romantic story about the relationships between women of very different styles and stations supporting each other, and finding romance at different times in their lives with old, new and differently-aged lovers. One thing that puzzled me and didn’t ring true was the enormous stress Gray placed on her relationship with her younger lover because of their differences in age. From the way Gray talked about it, I thought there must’ve been at least 12-15 years difference, not a measly 7 or 8! It’s been true for eons that society deems it fine for a younger woman to be with an older man. ( I was seven years younger than my husband, and no one ever blinked an eye!) Yet the reverse has been anathema. You’d hope in this rather post-patriarchal, feminist day and age that the hypocrisy of that ageist attitude would be questioned, if not downright rejected.
The other questionable storyline was one every divorced woman deals with: what are the chances of finding not one, but two stunningly gorgeous, eminently available, sensual, attractive single men pining after the central heroine immediately out of the gate after her soul-crushing divorce?
Well, I told myself, this IS a romantic fantasy, so why not? I can suspend disbelief as well as the next. Instead I let myself be carried away by the simple enjoyment of a tale well told and superbly narrated. It’s a good beach novel or lazy Spring time read, where Love triumphs over all, and the strength and sincerity of friendship among women is genuine, accepted and life-long.

Delightful from start to finish!

The pacing and tone of the narration was perfect and each woman came alive and fed our passion, both highs and lows, for the duration of the story. More please!
