From “the next major voice in Southern fiction” (Elin Hilderbrand) and the best-selling author of the Peachtree Bluff series comes an odd-couple tale of friendship that asks just how much our past choices define our happiness.

It’s summertime on the North Carolina coast and the livin’ is easy.

Unless, that is, you’ve just lost your mother to cancer, your sister to her extremist husband, and your husband to his executive assistant. Meet Gray Howard. Right when Gray could use a serious infusion of good karma in her life, she inadvertently gets a stranger, Diana Harrington, fired from her job at the local pharmacy.

Diana Harrington’s summer isn’t off to the greatest start either: Hours before losing her job, she broke up with her boyfriend and moved out of their shared house with only a worn-out Impala for a bed. Lucky for her, Gray has an empty guest house and a very guilty conscience.

With Gray’s kindness, Diana’s tide begins to turn. But when her first love returns, every secret from her past seems to resurface all at once. And, as Gray begins to blaze a new trail, she discovers, with Diana’s help, that what she envisioned as her perfect life may not be what she wants at all.

In her warmest, wisest novel yet, Kristy Woodson Harvey delivers a discerning portrait of modern womanhood through two vastly different lenses. Feels Like Falling is a beach bag essential for Harvey fans - and for a new generation of listeners.

Wonderful Story!

This is my first book by this author, and I loved it. I loved the friendships between Gray, Diana, and Marcy and how the three women had such a solid bond. Gray and Marcy were friends for years, then Gray and Diana meet at the perfect time, in a not so perfect way. All three women ended up being more like sisters and I loved that! I’ve had a friend like that since I was young and so I connected with them right away.

Then Gray’s sister Quinn is introduced. I absolutely loved Gray, Marcy and Diana. But to me, Quinn was the most interesting character, even though she had the least amount of time in the book. I loved how she grew as a person and sister.

The men in the book were great characters too although it took a very long time for me to change my mind about Greg.

I also enjoyed learning about the relationship between Diana and her brother. Very touching! But Diana and Frank’s relationship? Now that was an amazing story inside of an amazing story!

I loved the descriptions of Cape Carolina! It sounds like my kind of place.

The narration was perfect. Both Kelsey Navarro and Amanda Ronconi did an excellent job.

This was a book that I didn’t want to end. I can’t recommend it enough!

Didn’t want the book to end!

I actually hid in our master bath to finish this book..with a large glass of wine...I have two girls under 3 and my mother in law was recently visiting. I could not get enough and also didn’t want the book to end. Kristy has a true gift of depicting characters we know and can relate to. They are us.

I loved this book

I usually don’t take the time to write a review. Usually I write a review if it’s really bad or really good. This one was really good. Also, I rarely give 5 stars. I gave this one 5 stars.
It was an easy listening, happily ever after book. If you’re into sci-fi, blood and guts, westerns, suspense, paranormal, you won’t like it and that’s okay. Everyone has their own taste. But I enjoyed it tremendously.
That’s the thing about rating a book. No one has the same taste, so you can’t always go by the ratings.

Great story. Narrator were not.

Loved the story but not the narrators. The only reason I finished it was because I loved the story. Wish I would’ve read the actual book.

Good Book...Easy Listen

I enjoyed listening to this easy book while walking and sitting in my garden. Just a good book about people from different backgrounds trying to find their way through life.

Above Average Beach Read

The characters of Gray Howard and Diana Harrington are very well developed, which is sometimes rare in a chick lit book. Although the two women come from completely different backgrounds, they form a surprisingly strong friendship after Gray hires down-on-her-luck Diana to be her maid. At first, the idea of Gray of becoming involved with a man eight years her junior is kind of off-putting but Andrew is so sincere in his devotion to Gray, I came around by time the book was over.
The narration was excellent. I especially appreciated Diana’s genuine Southern drawl, being from the South myself. I highly recommend this charming book!

Cute, but...

Likeable characters and a good story, but a bit too much love at first sight, husband material, pretty people language for my taste. On one hand, the women seemed strong, smart, fun, and I loved their close friendship. On the other hand it seemed like all they cared about was finding a man. Eye roll. The narrators were great, especially Amanda Ronconi. She is amazing always.

Not awful but a bit unrealistic

Although I was able to listen to the book until the end which mean the characters/storyline must have been ‘interesting’ enough.
I’m just not fond at all of stories that have unrealistic ‘happy-ever-after’ endings for each and every character. That’s just not how life works...
