Publisher's summary

The time has come to take the fight to the Lankies.

Mars has been under Lanky control for more than a year. Since then, the depleted forces of Earth's alliances have rebuilt their fleets, staffing old warships with freshly trained troops. Torn between the need to beat the Lankies to the punch and taking enough time to put together an effective fighting force, command has decided to strike now.

Once again, seasoned veterans Andrew and Halley find themselves in charge of green troops and at the sharp tip of the spear as the combined military might of Earth goes up against the Lankies. But if there's one constant in war, it's that no battle plan survives first contact with the enemy...and the Lankies want to hold on to Mars as badly as humanity wants to reclaim it.

Another great book in the series!

Absolutely fantastic! The beginning is a bit slow but it gets there, and is worth it when you realize why it started like that!

The best preparation for battle I've ever read!!

The author's writing has evolved greatly from his first book (which was already good) he has master the orchestration of emotions. Marko Kloos is officially among the best in the genre.

Another wonderful book in this series

Mr. Kloos delivers again with book 5 in the Frontline series, now really looking forward to book 6. Luke Daniels is the perfect narrator for this series with his laid back performance and just the right amount of emotion in his voice. Well done both of you!

So good, so short

I'm kind of a Marko Kloos fanboy at this point so everything I say is biased.

The excellent story by Marko Kloos and the excellent narration by Luke Daniels again dive into humanity's struggle against the big bad aliens filled with action, suspense, and relatable characters. I enjoyed this work thoroughly.

My only complaint is that the story is a little shorter than I would have preferred and felt slightly rushed as a result.

Can't wait for the next installment

ended too fast

I love this series, Marko Kloos tells an awesome yarn. Luke Daniels narration is perfect. I just wish the books were twice as long.

Fields of Fire

War is war but no it is not. We as humanity as humans want to live not just survive. Fields of Fire tells the reader exactly that.

Best audio book I've heard

This book had it all. Excitement, dread, hope, and phenomenal voice acting by Luke Daniels.
