About this listen

She's serving up mayhem in the Magic City....

FINAL STRAW

Dishing out bad news is Jackie Parker's job. So when her boss grabs her assets one time too many, she serves him her notice and hopes he chokes on it. There must be a better way for a certified process server to make a living in Miami than working for a lousy lecherous lawyer. Whatever Jackie decides, her number one priority is to spend time with her husband, Luke, preferably without his brother Logan - AKA the Dark Prince.

FINAL WARNING

Despite Logan's objections, Luke asks her to join forces in their own property management team, Damaged Goods. Drawing the line between professional and personal lives proves challenging, especially when Logan serves her an ultimatum - tell Luke the truth about what really happened the night they first met, or he will. Sexual harassment is looking better and better.

FINAL NOTICE

Fester Gomez is three months behind on the rent for his pricey South Beach condo and Damaged Goods is on the job. Either they convince the tenant to pay up or he'll face eviction. The simple task turns deadly when the team discovers Gomez missing and a Jane Doe slowly decomposing in his bathtub. Serving a killer up to justice, wrestling family secrets - it's just another day on the job for Damaged Goods.

I really liked our flawed protagonist and the many conflicts presented in the book. I didn't like the main character calling one character the dark Prince in every other chapter or anytime he's mentioned. If you are a fan of cozy mysteries with flawed main characters you will enjoy this book.

I liked most of it but...

Loved it! I loved Jackie's personality and attitude. Her relationships with her family and friends rang true and made me care about and like her all the more. The story was fun and the writing humorous. I laughed out loud more than once. But what really made this story stand out for me was the narration of the audiobook which was top notch. Suzanne Cerreta does a fantastic job narrating. I listened to another book she narrated (also by the same author) and thought she had done a great job with that one, but this one was even better, if possible. I will definitely be listening to more books by this narrator and author!

Excellent narration and fun writing!

Loved this book and the narrator (seems sort of rare nowadays that they can pronounce and read well). Great mystery and storyline! Can’t wait to see where damaged goods goes from here!

I read this book in 2015 but during recovery from an operation I decided to listen to my audible version. The narrator does a good job.

I love this series and highly recommend.

Great

Now I really don't know which of Ms.Hart's series I like better. I love them all.
Final Notice went beyond my expectations with just the right amount of intrigue and humour and fire-hot tension - just enough to keep me on my toes.
Seriously, do yourself a favor and read or listen to this book. It's well worth it!

I got to know Jackie from ‘The Laundry Hag's Christmas Rental’ (a Damaged Goods – Laundry Hag crossover)
It was an awesome book (a Christmas themed story done right, highly recommended!), but it did spoil some things in this series for me (mainly how the whole love triangle situation plays out, it takes place between book 2 and 3 of Damaged Goods)).
This ‘love triangle angle’ isn’t my favorite, especially because 2 of the 3 involved are married.

I did enjoyed the humor and all the problems the Damaged Goods trio face.
This was a fun cozy mystery, and I’m looking forward continuing the series.
Narration was wonderful, best you could hope for.

I got this Audio Book for free (thanks!). I'm voluntarily leaving this review.

I read a cross over short that included these characters and I couldn’t help but want to know more. This first book didn’t disappoint. Jackie is a no nonsense girl who quits her job when her boss won’t stop his dirty dog ways. Luke, her husband, finds this okay because he wants to start a property management business with her and his brother Logan. Their first job starts off with a bang because there’s a dead body and Jackie can’t let it go. And she manages to get her self in some precarious positions. She also is concerned about working closely with her brother in law because before her and her hubs were married and he doesn’t know. This is a rom com, a cozy murder mystery and a love triangle all in one. There is sarcasm, humor, angst and even some mail biting moments. The narrator does a great job! She nails the emotions all the way down to being scare, out of breath or laughing! I quite enjoyed getting lost in this warm world on chilly day!

Jennifer L Hart has written a contemporary mystery that I enjoyed a lot. This book featured two brothers who started a property management business together. After one brother's wife quits her job, the other brother asked her to join their business. The characters were memorable. The mystery was filled with twists and turns. There were periods of frenetic action and plenty of humor. I am looking forward to the second book in the series. I recommend this book to others who enjoy this genre. Suzanne Cerreta's narration was awesome and added to the story's entertainment. I was given a free copy of the audiobook and I have voluntarily posted this review.
