Publisher's summary
In 1848, women can expect a few bumps along the Oregon Trail.
Corinne Temple, age 17, has a few ridiculous challenges to face outside the river crossings, snakes, Indians, accidental gunshots, and finding enough privacy to be clean along the grimy trail. When Corinne’s marriage of convenience gets less convenient, she turns to some new friends in the wagon train who help her see the hope for the future. They teach her to take the time to dance and celebrate the small victories, to have faith and determination through the hardest things a person can face.
Corinne’s journey takes her from the cobblestone streets of fashionable Boston to the rugged mountains of the West, across rivers and deserts, from sea to shining sea. A faithful heart gets this young woman through the hardest days on the trail; her skills and resolve show her and others how a woman can rise from circumstances and survive. Join her as she discovers her own strength and resilience in...Finding Her Way.
Previously released as Seeing the Elephant, revised, rewritten, and professionally edited.

From humble beginnings in rural Tennessee to his heroic death defending the Alamo, frontiersman, adventurer, and politician David Davy Crockett embodies the spirit and ideals of the national character. Even during his lifetime, tales of the sharpshooting, skilled woodsman were - to his delight - told, retold, and elaborated on. As a US congressman, the former Creek War militiaman steadfastly opposed President Andrew Jackson's Indian Removal Act.

Great story, told well and narrated with style!
I have read this book and listened to the audiobook. It is a touching story of faith, hope, tragedy and triumph. The storyline kept my interest and had enough twists and turns to keep me guessing,
I enjoyed the narration in the audiobook and found it easier to follow than the book because I was not distracted by the lack of editing.
Excellent book, well worth your time and money.
I am looking forward to the next one.

Enjoyed this story!
This is the first book I've listened to by this author and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It's clean, it did have some twists and turns and I liked and not the normal "I know what's going to happen next" I just wish her other books were audio as well.

Outstanding Story!
What made the experience of listening to Finding Her Way the most enjoyable?
I enjoyed this story of a determined young woman who gradually discovers her own strength and voice as she conquers unprecedented challenges. At first I thought it was going to be a typical "wagon train" story, but there were enough unexpected turns to the story that it defied that stereotype. By halfway through the novel I was completely immersed and couldn't wait to hear more.
What did you like best about this story?
I especially enjoyed the careful attention to historical accuracy throughout the book. I learned quite a bit about the Oregon Trail and early Oregon history by listening to this story. Thank you, author!

More than a "wagon train" story
This is such a good story. It is so much more than your typical "wagon train" story. There are the usual dangers associated with this time in our history. I particularly enjoyed reading about the medicinal uses of plants. There are plenty of endearing characters, but my favorite is Clive. I equate him with Matthew in Anne of Green Gables, and that is a HUGE compliment! While the entire book was good, I especially loved the last part ~ after they reach Oregon. I look forward to more books in this series and also by this author. (I was given an audio copy of this book for my honest opinion.)
