About this listen

A moment is all it takes to change your life forever.

Reid Carter - road captain for the Kings of Retribution MC. He was born into the life. A world where you live and play by your own rules. Tragedy strikes, taking the life of his younger brother, Noah, leaving him to pick up the broken pieces. Four years later, he still wanders through his existence bitter and jaded by the hand he was dealt. Until Mila and her daughter walk into his life, making him feel whole again.

Single mother Mila Vaughn knows what it's like to struggle every day. Returning to Polson, the only place she truly felt at peace - experienced love - she makes a home for herself and her daughter and fulfills her dream of becoming a nurse. When her skills place her into the arms of outlaw biker Reid Carter, sheltering her heart from him proves more complicated than Mila prepared herself for.

Chaos finds its way to their hometown; Reid will stop at nothing to protect the woman he wants and his future.

Contains mature themes.

Very good story. I cried a little with the Hope house. At some point in the story i though Mila's parents were resposable for Noah's death. I am still waiting for Bella to get pregnant.

Story line and narrations on POINT!!!!

Book 3 was every bit worth the read! Keeping the series going for me was hard after the horrible narration in book 2! When I say, both narrators are exactly what brought this series back to life, I mean every word! These two killed it!! I’m always a fan of Joe Arden! Maxine Mitchell is a new narrator for me but did fantastic!!

Excellent series and book 3 Crystal Daniels and Sandy Alvarez!!!! Can’t wait for book 4!

Reid and Mila

Possible spoilers….

Reid Carter has so much that life has thrown at him. He has so much to overcome. When he finds himself in the hospital again, he’s angry and over it. He quickly realizes, though doesn’t want to admit it, that he needs help.
Mila has been handling life like a pro, even when the chips are down, she is still kind and strong. She gets the job that will change her and Ava’s life forever, taking care of Reid.
Her life turns into utter chaos at every turn, her and her daughter’s safety in jeopardy. Reid will do anything in his power to protect them and make them his. It’s a dream and a promise that he makes to his brother, not knowing what that promise ends up being.
I want to tell you more but I don’t want to spoil it. Get the audible!!!

Reid and Mila

Reid and Mila’s story was by far my favorite. Reid had a lot happen to him, he’s loyal to his brothers, feels guilt for not being able to be there for Alba and Leyna, dealing with the loss of his blood brother and top it off he has to heal from his accident. Don’t blame the guy for being a little gruff and bitter at times. Now there’s Mila, sweet single mother just trying to make a good life for herself, her daughter, and taking care of her grandma. The story flowed wonderfully. I was cheering them on, teared up at times, enjoyed the banter and laughed with them.
Joe Arden and Maxine Mitchell did a FABULOUS job bringing this amazing story to life.

New book to add to my “TOP READS” collection!

I love stories about bikers and all their awesome! I was running out of stories that I could really connect with and get all of the “feels” that make an amazing story. CD and SA wove a story that gave me all that and more! I can’t wait to read more from them and highly recommend them as authors to chose when looking for a good read. I also have to add that the two narrators were perfect!!

Favorite so far!

I loved Mila!!! So happy that the FMC was a strong, independent woman. Reid was a bit grumpy (with good reason) in the beginning but quickly softened to the caring Mila. Ava was adorable and even though I saw the twist coming there, it was done beautifully and was believable.

I also really appreciated the fact that even though Reid had previously had his leg amputated, it didn't become a focus. There was no pity and he didn't dwell on it. It was a part of him like anything else and wasn't made to be part of his overall character.

Some parts were a bit slow and there wasn't much MC action, but I fully enjoyed it and felt the connection of the characters.

Narration was great!
