His power rules the city—but she rules his heart.
Finn O’Reilly is stern, powerful, and confident. He oversees his hotel and his syndicate with a commanding presence and leadership, knowing any weakness could be used against him.
And he has none. Except Una Murphy. The woman he lost his heart to and still loves, even though she wants nothing to do with him.
Or so she claims.
When her life is in peril, he won’t stop until she is safe and back where she belongs—with him.
Can he rescue her?
Convince her to stay?
Will she be a part of his world, regardless of the danger, knowing she is safer with him than apart?
She is his world.
He simply needs to convince her.

I dove in a second time via the audio, and was blown away by John Lane and Maxine Mitchell!! Their mastery of these amazing characters, their different accents, personalities, emotions and all the excitement of the plot made this one of my favorite narrations! Listening to John Lane argue and banter with himself as both Finn and Niall with unique Irish accents was priceless!!😆 I can’t tell you how excited I am that both of them will be back for 𝘕𝘪𝘢𝘭𝘭!
One of the best narrations yet!

What makes this story even MORE perfect, is the brilliant narration done by Maxine Mitchell and John Lane. Maxine, as always, portrays these women so well with their headstrong attitude but also voicing their vulnerable side without sounding whiney. And don’t even get me started on her male voice, because I could wax on about that for days and days. Finn is Irish and has a heavy accent, so of course when she read his lines in Unas chapters she did a great Irish accent. As I said, Finn is Irish with that thick accent and let me tell you JOHN DELIVERED!!! He was simply fantastic, and not only did he cover practically the entire book in the accent, but he was also able to carry the conversations with and without seamlessly. The emotion he can put into the characters as well is top notch. Both narrators did amazing job as always, and I am so happy they are the chosen ones for all of Melanies books. It truly makes them the perfect trio.

Book review:
What can I say? Morally grey is my favourite colour!
Melanie Moreland kept me captivated with Finn and Una's story, I didn't want to put it down.
What's the Irish Canadian mafia equivilent of pining for a heroine? Because that's what Finn has been doing and oh boy is that swoonworthy! I loved that Una's happiness was his priority, whether that included him in her life or not.
Una is a quiet, strong heroine. She is the kind of heroine that you admire - she's caring, loyal, protective and resilient. I love that she had goals in life and worked hard for them.
In Finn's world he will always face adversaries but the ones he faced with Una... Melanie Moreland wrote this so well that it physically turned my stomach.
I loved the touches of Irish (Gaeilge) and the Irish phrases that appeared in the book. I loved Niall and the hints of his story to come.
Absolutely amazing!

The action, the tension, the lovable side characters—Melanie nailed it again. Even with the darker themes, the romance still hit that sweet, emotional note she’s known for. I wish there was an epilogue, but I’m hoping we’ll see more in Niall and Anna’s book.
And the narration? Incredible. John Lane’s Irish accent was swoony perfection, and Maxine Mitchell brought so much heart. Together, they made the story come alive.
If you love broody Irish mafia kings and steamy, high-stakes romance, don’t miss this one.

Maxine Mitchell is the queen of female narration for all the reasons. John Lane was new to me and I loved hearing him. His Irish accent was one point. The way these two blended their voices and pronunciation of words was truly top notch.

What I’m Starry-Eyed Over:
🤩 Fabulous narration! Both narrators, Maxine Mitchell and John Lane, do great accent changes during conversations.
🤩 Finn is totally boy obsessed, but his love is unrequited. I adore him and how he has set Una up for success.
🤩 I love their history in flashback style.
🤩 She’s a virgin, and they are HOT!
🤩 When Finn says, “There has been no one since you, Una.”
🤩 All the feels. I was so nervous when they were so very in love at 50%.
🤩 The trip to Ireland!! I love the emotions of it all, but also the bathtub scene is hot!
🤩 Well written human trafficking representation. I love when my morally gray characters fight the good fight!!
What I’m Wishing/Dizzy About:
