About this listen

Pragmatic Maeve Benetton would never have answered an advertisement for a mail-order bride on her own accord, but without her knowledge and on her behalf, her brother replied to one placed by Patrick Holden from Weatherton, Wyoming. When a letter came from Patrick several weeks later, Maeve decided to pen her own reply, giving in to the romantic notions she'd always kept hidden.

After a time of correspondence, she fancied herself in love with Patrick and agreed to marry him. She packed the few belongings she had, said goodbye to her family, and left her home for romance in the west.

When she arrived in Weatherton, Patrick was nowhere to be found. Weeks went by, and with no money to return home, Maeve was stuck in limbo, living with Patrick's family. When he finally does return, will Maeve be able to adapt to changes? And can she trust herself enough to fall in love, or will she fall back to her practical self?

In the second Brides of Weatherton novella, best-selling author, Leah Atwood, delivers another sweet, mail-order romance full of faith, love, friendship, and family.

love the story the characters are likeable but the narrator reads like she's in a hurry her Male voices are no good

easy read

I never leave reviews. I just don't care enough to bother I guess, but this narrator warrants the effort to do so. She takes long pauses, so I tried just speeding it up little. However she also talks way too fast at times, so listening faster wasn't an option. At times she sounds like a much older woman than the characters. You can hear her breathing heavily and swallowing. There's no consistency to her characters' voices. The novella itself isn't extremely well-written, but the story themes and plot are okay. Overall, the narrator ruins what is good about it though.

Narrator is TERRIBLE

Narration is a mess. Awkward phrasing and mispronunciations are only the beginning. Storyline is trite with poor sentence structure. Overall a very weak product.

Cheesy
