When I started this book, I expected it to fall short like sequels often do. I however was very surprised by how good it is, and the direction the author went with the story.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, I certainly would. The narrator is good. Her voice may not change a lot in variation (that usually bothers me) but Hillary Huber's voice really does weave a spell and keep me engaged in the story.

What other book might you compare Firewalker to and why?

Jenn Stark's Immortal Vegas series, Domino Finn's Black Magic Outlaw, Stephen Blackmoore's Eric Carter series - these series are somewhat the same subject - sort of - and they are all very good.

Have you listened to any of Hillary Huber’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have never heard Hillary before but I have already picked up another book of her narration already. She has such a lilting, calm and easy going voice that is really a treat to listen to.

this is a good story. however its story line is predictable. i will be interested to see how the story plays out.

After reading this second book of the series there is improvement and the overall feel of the story and characters for me, as the first one left me lukewarm and only mildly interested in continuing with the series in general.

Having chosen to read on I found a better understanding of Janet, she is tough, smart and compassionate. A well rounded character is forming and her relationships with the other characters are coming to life and feel more sincere. I look forward to reading the rest of the series now.

The daughter of an underworld goddess she is being trailed and monitored by gods, powerful dragons and others who are watching to see if she will realize the strength of her own power and if she will be able to handle it wisely or destroy the world.

I love this series. Allyson James is an awesome story teller and Hillary Huber is a wonderful narrator. Allyson gives you a thrill, suspense and romantic novel. I was hooked from the first word of this book. Wonderful read. Janet and Mick continue their awesome story. The excitement is hard to contain. The suspense and thrill will keep you on the end of your seat and your pulse racing. This book has tasteful romance. Not any raunchy sex. Awesome paranormal series. Gonna be so sorry when it ends.

As the second book in the series, the action picks right up and goes nonstop. I don’t know what the fascination with the nakedness if the dragons. But very enjoyable story. Really love the narrator too. She changes voices and accents so well!

I listened to Allyson James' first book in this series (Stormwalker) and LOVED it! I was resigned to reading the next books on my Kindle and - YAY! - Audible now has more of this series in their library!!! The excitement continues in book 2, so I can't wait to listen to book 3. Janet Begay is a great, strong character. Hillary Huber once again does an excellent job bringing this story to life.

I enjoyed the storyline. For me, however, the regular narration speed is too slow to stream it. I downloaded it to my Fire HD so I could adjust +1.25. It made it move along a bit faster. Much more enjoyable for my listening experience.
