Publisher's summary
Fish & Chips is a guide to English culture and behavior. It sets out to provide listeners with the tools and information they need to understand "Englishness" and successfully navigate the complex social landscape.
For many people who are not of English origin, trying to understand or fit in to the English way of life can be tedious, if not downright frustrating. This is because many behavioral rules, despite being strictly adhered to, are unwritten and rarely documented. In fact, most English people follow these rules their entire lives without ever being consciously aware of them! Whether we’re conscious of them or not, these unofficial codes of conduct are what define English national identity and character.
This audiobook provides clear insights into how to identify which social group you are dealing with, which behavioral codes are likely to govern a particular situation, and what you can do to feel more at home. Each chapter refers to a particular aspect of English behavior, exposing the unwritten and unspoken rules that underpin it.
Just as grammar rules allow people to create new sentences, a clear-cut guide to social rules allows people to interact comfortably and without confusion. Fish & Chips is the first step toward students of English abandoning doubts and hesitations about what can at first appear a cold and confusing society and starting to use these rules creatively and to their own advantage, just as the English themselves do.
A "grammar" of English behavior becomes an invaluable resource for newcomers to England who want to do simple things like get a drink, meet new people, and get ahead with colleagues and friends. Equally, it is a fascinating source of insight for English people who want to know why they behave as they do.

Graciousness is practicing the arts of kindness, thoughtfulness, good manners, humanity, and basic decency. As a bonus, it makes your life and even the world (or at least the room you're in) much lovelier. It's not about memorizing every rule of traditional etiquette to a T (though there is so much there to explore!) or spending all your time maintaining a spotless house. It's about approaching the world with compassion, conviction, self-confidence, and wholeheartedness, whether you're at the Met Gala or saying good morning to a convenience store clerk.

Story
An uproariously funny examination of what one generation can teach to another - or not - from the Pulitzer Prize winner and New York Times - best-selling author of You Can Date Boys When You're Forty and Insane City. During the course of living (mumble, mumble) years, Dave Barry has gained much wisdom* (*actual wisdom not guaranteed), and he is eager to pass it on - to the next generation, the generation after that, and those idiots who make driving to the grocery store in Florida a death-defying experience.

Story
Without bothering to get approval from the President, the State Department, or even the FTC, Dave Barry's publishers sent him to Tokyo. You'd think they would have known better. Now the word is Barry has set back our diplomatic relations with the whole Pacific Rim by a couple of decades. Japanese culture, dining, sport, and industry all come under Barry's relentless scrutiny.

Journalist, presenter, broadcaster, husband, father, vigorous all-rounder – Alan Partridge – a man with a fascinating past and an amazing future. Gregarious and popular, yet Alan’s never happier than when relaxing in his own five-bedroom, south-built house with three acres of land and access to a private stream. But who is this mysterious enigma? Alan Gordon Partridge is the best – and best-loved – radio presenter in the region. Born into a changing world of rationing, Teddy Boys, apes in space and the launch of ITV, Alan’s broadcasting career began as chief DJ of Radio Smile....

A perfect outline of etiquette
A great audiobook that I found to be maturative and developmental for a young man coming of age like myself. I found this to be relatable and worthwhile generally. I further highly recommend this book.
