In Beverly Hills, fame and wealth can buy everything except class, grace, and sophistication. In Beverly Hills Manners, Lisa Gache offers a behind-the-scenes look at the unique social dilemmas of the residents of the hills of Beverly through the eyes of an etiquette expert tasked with transforming her awkward, boorish, and sometimes challenging clients into social virtuosos. From Saudi princesses to Oscar winners, talent agents to intelligence operatives, child actresses, butlers, and football players, Lisa has amassed an astounding roster. She’s taught Oscar nominees how to successfully navigate the red carpet, sorority girls to use forks and knives, and NFL coaches to shake hands. In this book, she reflects on those experiences to teach you how to present yourself as a respectable professional in real-world situations. Beverly Hills Manners covers more than just table manners. It includes advice on what Lisa calls Child Wrangling “laying down the law as parents when it comes to cliques, bullying, and cattiness and netiquette, a vital new discipline in tune with every type of social media. You’ll also learn how to gracefully conduct yourself during life’s most trying moments, such as comforting a friend on the loss of a loved one or agreeing to help a family member who may be down on his luck.

Well written, comprehensive and relevant - this book also me laugh and consider what I really find to be important in life. If you want a fluffy niche vanity tutorial do not read this. But if you want a superbly crafted, current life guide then you're in luck.

Thorough and exceptionally practical

This is an entertaining manners book. You don’t have to live in Beverly Hills to appreciate the amusing moments. Practical advice for every occasion whether interviewing for a job or meeting the parents. I’ve used it to prepare for a date and practice walking in high heels.

Laugh out loud and great tips on manners

I loved this audiobook - it was witty, informative, and succinct. I haven't made it through other etiquette books, because I get bored halfway through. This one was fun and engaging - I binged it!

"Sit up straight" DUH! How to walk in heels...another DUH! Different types of handshakes etc.....

WASTE OF MONEY

Telling people to address males and females differently, telling males and females to behave differently, is backwards and sexist. Males can walk “like women” if they want, females can walk “like men” if they want, and anyone who would hold it against them deserves no regard. Letting gender affect introductions is just wrong. Also, it’s simply offensive to say that males should not spend time on their appearances. Everyone should pay more attention to grooming, especially males, who have centuries of permitted ugliness to make up for.

Sexist

The narrator’s pacing made the book very hard to follow, and the content itself was very superficial.
