Awesome Finish to a Great Story!

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review. This review is for the audio copy of Flame: Ember in Space, Book 3, by Rebecca Rode and narrated by Stacey Glemboski. The third book puts the finishing touch to this 3 book series. The character development comes together very well is this story. There were some critiques about this in the earlier books but I believe it was necessary so that you could see the characters grow and mature into their roles/lives. Anyway, I enjoyed the story very much. A major contributor that made the Audible version great was the voice and voices of Stacey Glemboski. She made the story come alive in my mind and it would not have been the same without her reading the story. I look forward to future stories written by Rebecca and narrated by Stacey. Great job you two!

One of the best series - definitely listen or read

I was captivated from the beginning. The author did a superb job of defining the characters and putting the right touches to make me emotionally invested. This final book wrapped everything up with an ending I did not see or anticipate. Definitely going to look for more from this author.

An exciting conclusion to a unique scifi trilogy

In this 3rd installment, It seems that all is lost. Ember is barely holding herself together, much less a rebellion. Old friends betray Ember, and friends we'd forgotten come back. As expected, good does defeat evil, but it does it with a minimum of bloodshed and in a way that shows Ember being the stronger person after all.

The appeal to this series as a whole is that it uses a Roma lead character. I hadn't read much of that before, and the character feels honest and researched. The world around her is so big that I could imagine other stories set in this universe even if not about Ember herself.

Because this was an audio, Glemboski's performance is satisfying. I still find Ember's accent odd, but as a choice, it is consistent through the whole work. I would listen to this narrator again and feel confident that I was going to enjoy the performance.

Great story! great narration! Loved it!

There's only one bad thing about this series; it's over. This is one of the few audiobook series that I will give a second listen too. Rebecca Rode's story is fun and exciting, and I love Stacey Glemboski's narration!

Best Yet!

This novel surprised me. I’ve found with most series that I like the first book the best. The reader is introduced to the characters and falls in love with them and the rest of the series is set up. That happened with this series, but I found that the farther I got in the series the more I continued to fall in love with the characters. A bit unusual for me, Ms. Rode’s final book in the series is my favorite.

This book is much more action packed that the first, which is another surprise as action books are not high on my TBR list. The inventive way that Ms. Rode finishes this series is wonderful. She also has a way to make you feel deeply for characters the reader and characters of the story have only just met.

Ms. Glemboski once again voices the characters very well. When listening to these books in succession it is amazing that the consistency never waivers and a reader has to remind themselves that they were likely recorded over the course of months or years and not in succession.

I certainly recommend the entire series, with a small warning. If you read and like the first book, make sure you have the second and third on hand before you finish. You will want to continue right away.

I was provided with a free copy of this audio book for my honest review. The views expressed here are entirely my own.

A Fitting End

This has been a quality, engaging series. While book 2 was a little less enjoyable than the first, due to an overall sadder tone, the final part of the trilogy introduces a defiant resolve that propels it back to excellence.
Ember has decisions to make. She holds the lives of thousands in her hands, with the prospective opportunity to influence billions more. She battles the empire, a growing struggle between love and responsibility, and an internal conflict with a growing darkness within her soul.
The final, inevitable battle is delivered well. There is anticipation, bold actions, and intense battle sequences. The conclusions are satisfying, if somewhat predictable, and fun to experience.
Stacey Glemboski has delivered terrific narration throughout the series. Her accent when reading for Ember is believable and truly marks the character. She delivers outstanding performances throughout the series.

Great conclusion! Must listen if you enjoyed #1-2

Overall I really enjoyed this series and felt like this book did a great job at wrapping up the story. It took a little bit to get back into the swing of things and started off in a different direction then I was thinking it would based on how book 2 ended but was an extremely enjoyable listen.

Narration by Stacey Glemboski was superb! If you enjoyed her narration of book 1 and 2 you will not be disappointed. There were a couple singing parts that I felt were exceptionally well done and definitely stand out from other narrator performances who either just narrate the singing (which is fine!) or do an okay job at singing segments.

If you have read/listened to book 1 and 2, you definitely must pick up book 3!

WHAT A GREAT SERIES!!

I don't know how I feel about the Ember in Space series ending. I have loved every single minute of the three books. Ember was a great main character, with all of her flaws, and I will miss her. When she failed, she did so wanting to do the right thing. When she succeeded, sometimes the lines blurred. These stories had a moral story line along with the battle of good versus evil.

This final battle, this final stand, this final epic fight for what's right (wrong?) was an absolute treat. And the narrator absolutely nailed it!!!

Goodbye Lady Flair. You did us proud!!

Amazing Ending

I loved listening to Stacey narrate the final installment in Ember's trilogy. There was so much I loved about this story and it was so awesome to hear it all. I love how Stacey's voice made it all seem more read and I'd almost react throughout the book as if I was watching it all happen. This is such a great story and I especially loved the ending.
