About this listen

When Anita Blake meets with prospective client Tony Bennington, who is desperate to have her reanimate his recently deceased wife, she is full of sympathy for his loss. Anita knows something about love, and she knows everything there is to know about loss. But what she also knows, though Tony Bennington seems unwilling to be convinced, is that the thing she can do as a necromancer isn't the miracle he thinks he needs. The creature that Anita could coerce to step out of the late Mrs.Bennington's grave would not be the lovely Mrs.Bennington. Not really. And not for long.©2010 Laurell K. love anita blake !

I love anita and all of her adventures, and I loved the book! however, the stupid and oddly placed audio clips in the backgrounds made no sense and distracted from the voice actor every time it came on.

Cute story, but too expensive for a short story.

I do love Laurell K. Hamilton's stories. The characters are always relatable, and Anita's occasionally funny snark is refreshing. The scenario of the story is repeated from previous books, but not in a boring or over done way.

The cost of $17.95 for a book that is just over 3 hours if listening time is ridiculous. My OCD doesn't allow me to skip books in a series, and that is the only reason I wasted that kind of money on such a short book.😤

Short but worth it

Several reviews complain about how short Flirt is. I like the fact that we only have the one plot line to deal with. The payoff off introducing Nicky benefits from lack of clutter from secondary and tertiary plotlines.

just right

I really enjoyed listening to this book. I appreciate her effort to make them sound different from each other. I'll take Kimberly narrating these books over the other ladies any day.

Short, but with Punch

One of the shortest Anita Blake stories in the series, but still impactful. The story is about Flirts and flirting; and about loving your Flirts above all else. Jacob and his Lion pride take a job to kidnap Anita Blake to force her into raising a Zombie against her will. They learn that going against Anita and her growing powers can extort a high price. Anita has to Roll Nicky to get his help & energy; he becomes her Bride & Lion & joins her inner circle.
Alexis does an incredible job of narration.

Good intro of new character

Oh I so wish Nicky had been brought to this series sooner, he is a breath of fresh air. I had read the book but am so glad I bought it on audiobook so I could get a feel of his nonchalant voice. Kimberly Alexis' did a wonderful job of bringing him to life. We look forward to hearing him in the future.

Once you get used to one narrator...

I just got used to how the other narrator said "were-" whatever and was really happy about the background music being gone. Now we are back to Kimberly Alexis and I have to get used to her again. Sigh. Why skimp on the narration for such a popular series?
