Publisher's summary

Ex-DCI Luke Sackville is asked to investigate celebrity parties by a whistleblower at GNE, a global news and entertainment company. Two of his Ethics Team go undercover and piece together a frightening picture of depravity and wickedness.

Luke is shocked to discover that celebrities are using their fame to exploit and abuse fans. He takes the evidence to GNE’s executive management but they refuse to take action.

Little does he know that what they have uncovered is only the tip of the iceberg. A serial killer is taking advantage of the culture of secrecy and no one is safe.

Fog of Silence is the third gripping instalment in the Luke Sackville crime series. If you like a team you can root for, you’ll love this thriller. Perfect for fans of JD Kirk, LJ Ross, JM Dalgleish, David J Gatward and Alex Smith.

Excellent Luke Sackville thriller!

After listening to the Black Money audiobook – Luke Sackville #2 – I thought I was getting addicted to this series. Not that I’ve listened to Fog of Silence, the third Luke Sackville book, I can conclusively say I’m hopelessly addicted to listening to this series. Fog of Silence finds Luke and his Ethics team pursuing a rumor of impropriety of a heinous nature in a media company.

Once again everyone in the team gets involved in the investigation, however Josh takes the lead role for reasons that will become apparent as you read or Isten to the book. I thought Black Money took on some dark and gritty themes, but the themes in Fog of Silence are at least as dark and dirty if not worse than those in Black Money. If I’ve got your curiosity up, then grab the book/audiobook and tuck in for an action-packed story that is dead sericeous in parts but tends to lighten up when Mr. Filcher or Glen Baxter come into the picture.

Along with S J Richards' excellent story, Samuel James does an excellent job narrating this story. His distinct voices for each of the characters bring them to life each time I hear their voices. Furthermore, his pacing/delivery and vocal variation brings the overall story to life and makes it near impossible to stop listening for any reason.

enjoyable & unique

Fog of Silence: A Gripping British Crime Thriller (Luke Sackville Crime Thrillers Book 3), my third read from British author S J Richards. An enjoyable crime thriller without being focused on the police. Those TNT television watchers of The Closer will like these books with the quirky characters. “I received a free Audible copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review." The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. I look forward to reading more from this author, I have to wait until May to get The Corruption Code: A Nail-biting British Crime Thriller (Luke Sackville Crime Thrillers Book 4). (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018.

They’re back….

First of all, I was wrong about this being a four book series, which I am glad about. This is one of those series where you get to know the characters and they start to feel like family and friends. You look forward to seeing what they’ve been up to since the last book. I love how the authors storyline centers around an out source business that has an ethics department, and the fact that you get to see the investigation first hand through the eyes of the characters. This is definitely one series that I plan to keep up with.

The crazy crime solving characters kept me listening!

As in the first two books in this series, the character development for each of the crime-solving coworkers is easy to follow & full of foibles for everyone. I really love the personality of the main man Luke since he’s a great detective, boss, son & friend to everyone. I’m amazed at how invested I’ve become with the complexity of Luke as the man in the crew who adds his special flair to each mystery.

The crazy sleazy criminal behavior for the celebrity/entertainers & their staff definitely brought out my rage & disgust with the abusive subject matter. As in the other books in this series, there’s no shortage of whodunnit moments in this story line.

Each book in the series gives greater insight to these great characters. I truly like spending time with these men & women. The plot varies just enough in each book to keep me excited with the action & entertained from beginning to end. I’m looking forward to more fabulous future endeavors for Luke & his wonderful Ethics team. You really shouldn’t miss any of these books if this type of criminal mystery interests you.

Filth

Certainly not a cozy mystery! Can do without this slop as reading relaxation. Beware. Unless you are sick
