About this listen
From a USA Today Bestselling Author! A collection of three sweet romantic comedies that will make you laugh-out-loud and cheer for happily ever after.
When a Star Falls (Book 1):
Ruby: I wish I could say tripping a hot guy and tumbling across the grass with him was the most embarrassing thing that’s ever happened to me. It’s not. But, that snafu turned into a date, which led to me being discovered by a record label powerhouse.
That's the first time my klutziness has paid off like that.
I thought I was ready for fame, but I’m not so sure. Collin’s career is taking off at the same time as mine, and I swear his personal assistant is making gaga eyes at him. Turns out, stardom isn’t all glamorous. I just wish I didn’t have to choose between Collin and making a name for myself.
How a Star Shines (Book 2):
Kiki: I’ve made it in the music business without anyone’s help, so when a guy shows up, claiming to be my bodyguard, I do what any independent woman would do—I cripple him with pepper spray. Turns out, he was telling the truth.
Whoops.
I want to hate having Josh around—I really do—but I can’t. He's incredible, but he's also off-limits. One measly kiss to see if his lips are as soft as they look and he’ll lose his job. Bodyguards seriously suck the fun out of everything…
See a Star Rise (Book 3):
Monica: I know I’m lucky to have a second chance at stardom. Life was good… until I had a front-row seat to my boyfriend making out with another woman.
Men were dead to me. Even Logan, the smokin’ hot publicist hired to repair my public image, couldn’t tempt me. He’s even willing to go along with my ridiculous plan to make Preston jealous by playing my fake date. Zero emotional attachment. Should be easy, right?
Wrong. So, so wrong.
Ready for more? Continue the series and enjoy the laughs and toe-curling sweet romance!

It isn’t easy being adored by the hunky Hollywood bachelor who's my new neighbor. Okay, sure, that part might be easy. But, I never asked for the celebrity next door to keep coming around, offering to help me on my farm. Story
This marriage will be a convenient business arrangement and nothing more. No strings attached, and above all—no broken hearts. Growing up in a broken home taught me to watch out for myself, and that the only love out there is what I create. That's why I stick to taking care of my baby sister and the hodgepodge of wildlife I volunteer to rehabilitate. Add in a stray puppy I found under the car with the help of Wil, a grumpy single dad move-in to Button Blossom, and everything’s good. He's cute. (The puppy, not Wil…well, okay. Wil's broody, which also makes him a teensy bit hot.) Except...

Plans are meant to be trashed. I pride myself on being in command of my life. Maybe it’s become slightly control freak-level, but I prefer predictability. So, when an unfortunate photo surfaces of me with Tad Fisher, the music industry’s favorite bad boy, it screws up my carefully calculated plans. I am not Tad’s girlfriend and the only thing crazier would be pretending that I am. Sometimes, drastic measures have to be taken to restore order. What does Tad get out of all of it? I’m the key to repairing his image. Dating a good girl might help sales of his sappy love songs, but not ...

Fame and fortune should be good enough for him. I swore never to return to Texas, but my boss insisted I go scout out the next big music talent. I’d argue, but then someone might find out I grew up in a place that was the definition of unsophisticated. Boo. So when I find myself in a backwood, honky-tonk bar, all I want to do is get out of there before someone recognizes me. Of course, my ex-fiancé had to saunter through the door, and right as he took the stage, he totally saw me tip out of my chair. I will never live that down. All I have to do is convince Tyson to take the offer he’d...

And 24-year-old Millie refuses to let that happen to her - again. Especially now that she's responsible for raising her brothers and sister. There's no such thing as a second chance. My fears of becoming an old, shut-in cat lady are shelved when I’m invited to go on tour after appearing in a popular singing competition. It sounds like a dream come true until my ex, Warren, shows up unannounced and with horrible timing. Did he have to see me in public, wearing pajama pants and greasy, unwashed hair? Classy. Warren’s gorgeous singing voice and Southern charm are hard to ignore, but I will stay focused, even if it’s the death of me. Easier said than done when one glance from him makes my insides turn to mush. Warren doesn’t...

please... no more AI!!
I liked the stories alot! The stories were fun and kept my interestand. different subject matter was a pleasant surprise.
I did not like the delivery by AI. I found myself re- listening to lots of the stories, for one, it was impossible to know just by listening, just who the speaker was. everybody sounded the same.
the timing of the speech was also an issue for me too. there were no pauses for dramatic effect, not even for chapter progression. she would say the last sentence and chapter blah as though part of the same paragraph.
I really kind of ruined the listen for me. I love (especially when listening to a series) the identifiable voices that tell you who is speaking. it's more like a story. and if the series contains enough stories by the end of the series when everyone sounds exactly the same the climax is just not there. the. AI sounds like some kind of a canned speech, much like a script delivered by a telemarketer or high pressure salesman.
my last thought. there are some places that AI, can replace the human element, but telling a story with multiple characters is not one of them. I don't think I'll waste my coveted credits on another series narrated by AI.

I couldn’t finish
I listened to the first one, but the virtual voice/AI was so bad I couldn’t go on. I think it would have been funny had the AI not completely butchered every other sentence. It literally pronounced words wrong. And don’t get me started on the choppy cadence. It’s a shame. The series is probably pretty good and the author deserves to have her work read and enjoyed. But I could barely finish the first story and I’ll now decidedly avoid any other books with virtual voice.

Narration was flat.
I hated the pace of the narration. it was obviously AI. intonation was wrong, phrasing was wrong, some of it jerky & disjointed. it was one of a three part series, and I could only stand listening to the one.
