About this listen

New York Times best-selling author Kristan Higgins is beloved for her heartfelt novels filled with humor and wisdom. Now, in her newest novel, Good Luck with That, she tackles an issue every woman deals with: body image and self-acceptance.

Emerson, Georgia, and Marley have been best friends ever since they met at a weight-loss camp as teens. When Emerson tragically passes away, she leaves one final wish for her best friends: to conquer the fears they still carry as adults.

For each of them, that means something different. For Marley, it's coming to terms with the survivor's guilt she's carried around since her twin sister's death, which has left her blind to the real chance for romance in her life. For Georgia, it's about learning to stop trying to live up to her mother's and brother's ridiculous standards, and learning to accept the love her ex-husband has tried to give her.

But as Marley and Georgia grow stronger, the real meaning of Emerson's dying wish becomes truly clear: more than anything, she wanted her friends to love themselves.

A novel of compassion and insight, Good Luck with That tells the story of two women who learn to embrace themselves just the way they are.

Wonderful Story

This book is a wonderful story and very relatable for any person who has ever struggled with their weight. It’s heart wrenching and heart warming all at once. I had a hard time stopping for bed!

You should see things differently after reading

Body image issues, weight problems, and social fears. What woman doesn’t have one or all of them? I can genuinely say that reading this page turner did help me gain some perspectives, however I cannot recommend this book to everyone at all times. I began reading it while convalescing from s knee injury. I was a little depressed. I had to put the book down and come back to it later when I was in a better frame of mind. “GOOD LUCK WITH THAT “ was worth the second attempt!!

Kristan Higgins is a fabulous author.

I loved this book and all of the characters. I laughed and cried but must of all I walked away with a feeling in my heart that was so uplifting. I am a pay it forward kind of gal. I'm far from perfect and the last 2 years of my life have been horrible. This book being a way I could escape it all even if only for an hour or two. This book also gives me hope that dreams can really come true and that life can get better.
Thank You Kristan.

Can I give this more than 5 stars?

This may be my new favorite book. I listened to it, then listened again, then just went back to relisten to the Marley chapters. Not only are the characters totally relatable (I am Marley), but the situations and stories are so real. I think I'm in love with Will Harding (he's kinda sorta like my real life shy sweetie). I literally laughed and cried while listening to this MORE THAN ONCE. I am now going to be on the hunt for more books by Kristan Higgins and books read by Xe Sands. If you love a good friends story, with some awkward romance, and real life thrown in then give this book your full attention.

A fat girls delight!

Eradicating the negativity surrounding obesity one beautiful fictional word at a time.

Every "plus-sized" woman can relate to each of these amazingly vivid characters and their trials. I loved them so much, I wanted to be their friend!

poignant

This, the latest book by Kristan Higgins, is her most heart wrenching yet. Amazing and insightful. The characters and circumstances are excruciatingly honest and, I imagine, come straight from the author's heart.

I think we are all part of this book.
