About this listen

When Ellery moved to New York with her boyfriend, she thought they’d live happily ever after in their small New York apartment. She never thought he’d pack his bags and leave because he “needed space”.

With her newfound single status and fear of being alone, Ellery buries herself in her artwork and paintings until one night she helps a mysterious intoxicated stranger get home safely. Little did she know the mysterious stranger is none other than CEO and millionaire Connor Black. After finding Ellery in his kitchen the next morning and assuming she broke his #1 rule about sleepovers, he becomes intrigued, not only by her stubbornness and defiance, but by her kindness.

Connor Black, emotionally dead and damaged, stemming from a personal tragedy, made a vow to never love or fall in love with a woman, until Ellery Lane walked into his life by accident. After she opens up and shows him her world, Connor starts to feel emotions and feelings he never knew existed. Despite the rumors and warnings regarding Connor Black and his use and misuse of women, Ellery finds herself being drawn into his world.

Ellery knows they can never be together because she is harboring a deep secret that could destroy Connor emotionally forever. Join Connor and Ellery as they embark on a journey of courage, love and strength. Will it be enough to save them?

PG-13 version of Fifty Shades

Incredibly gorgeous and insanely wealthy guy with control and commitment issues meets pretty young thing (who is also gorgeous but is not aware of it) . . . It was entertaining, but somewhat predictable. This was a BOGO deal so I did not mind. I did not feel it was worthy of a full credit.

Second time I have listened to it. I love this book.

This book is so good. The two main characters are so different, but fit so well together. I cry every time I read this story.

Should be a stand alone

It was good but I'm not so sure that a boom 2 or 3 was enough. I am usually all for fighting and making up but the relationship was flat out toxic and not in a good sexy way. The guy character came off as trying to be demanding and dominating but was really just an asshole who's gf kept forgiving him. I usually am not at all harsh in my reviews but geesh it got old.

one of the better romance novels

However, at times the female lead character got on my nerves, she did some childish things. That made him the more so a loveable hero though.
Narration is OK but not outstanding.

Sad

I really liked this story, but it was sad. I struggled with the content because so many of my family members have struggled with it. However, I found the story to be good. I did think that some of the stuff Ellery did was a bit much for a women in her condition. I really liked Connor. He was rough around the edges but he had a good heart. This next comment has nothing to do with how the story is written. I did not like that Ellery withheld important information from Connor. Stuff he deserved to know especially after he started to open up to her. It made her seem selfish thinking only of herself. I felt like she did do a lot of selfish things in the story. I would recommend this book.

Boring, predictable …

What did you like best about Forever Black? What did you like least?

Ellery has an interesting problem, She otherwise was predictable and stubborn. I was hoping for some sort of twist that never came. It was kinda depressing.

Would you recommend Forever Black to your friends? Why or why not?

No it was predictable and depressing

What aspect of Felicity Munroe and David Benjamin Bliss ’s performance would you have changed?

The narrators were good.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

No

My New Fifty shades of Black

If you could sum up Forever Black in three words, what would they be?

This book was so deep ant time that I found myself weeping in my car.I loved Ellery personality and her strength. although I though it would be like fifty shades of grey, it was WAY better! I cannot wait to read the next one. I must mention that I rather listen to Felicity Munroe any day over the very annoying voice of Becca Battoe who made me dislike the audio version of fifty shades.

What did you like best about this story?

I didn't like the fact that they never touched on whether Peyton and Doctor Hottie got engaged and when.

Have you listened to any of Felicity Munroe and David Benjamin Bliss ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

This is the first time I listen to them.

Who was the most memorable character of Forever Black and why?

Ellery! She was a force to be reckoned with and made the story what it was.

Any additional comments?

Just not for me...

This is another story of two damaged people who find supposed happiness with each other. The beginning was great! After they met, the story went down hill. The last 3 hours is the two characters fighting and making up, and I could have dealt with that, but the sex scenes were mediocre and grossed me out. The main character is Ellery and she is a psycho who constantly starts ridiculous fights and throws heavy objects at the rich 30 year old CEO who loves her anyway. I stopped listening after the third fight/makeup cycle, I can't stand the unhealthy relationships that stay together because they are "so in love" even though they say horrific things to each other. If you like the drama and bad makeup sex cycles then go ahead, but I could not finish.
