In the latest novel in the number one New York Times best-selling series, homicide detective Eve Dallas sifts through the wreckage of the past to find a killer.

The body was left in a dumpster like so much trash, the victim a woman of no fixed address, known for offering paper flowers in return for spare change - and for keeping the cops informed of any infractions she witnessed on the street. But the notebook where she scribbled her intel on litterers and other such offenders is nowhere to be found.

Then Eve is summoned away to a nearby building site to view more remains - in this case decades old, adorned with gold jewelry and fine clothing - unearthed by recent construction work. She isn’t happy when she realizes that the scene of the crime belongs to her husband, Roarke - not that it should surprise her, since the Irish billionaire owns a good chunk of New York. Now Eve must enter a complex world of real estate development, family history, shady deals, and shocking secrets to find justice for two women whose lives were thrown away....

Every book in the In Death series is a treasure.
Well written with great story lines.
Susan Erickson does a superb job with the narration. I have every book in the series in my library. The characters could almost be family.😊

Always a pleasure!

Honestly have to say that this was the first time that I rooted for one of the "bad guy" characters, but the gardening Russian mobster won me over. Well played.

Another good story by JD Robb, Susan Ericksen

I know that some day these wonderful stories of Eve, Rorke, and their gang will have to end but thankfully, it doesn't need to be any time soon! I still get so excited each time a new pre-order is announced! In this wonderful installment, Eve has her hands full with two cases at once and as always, she is knocking down anyone in her way to closing the cases and getting justice for those who have become "hers".

Still Going Strong!

Another great story. Eve Dallas always come through no matter who the victim is. And the way all these stories were connected gave me extra joy.

Great listen

Great story but I have never liked the narrator. She makes Peabody sound like a complete dork and her Irish accent needs some work.

great story, narration....not so much

I have loved this series since the very first book. Eve’s stead fast belief in justice and Roarke’s ability to straddle the fine line between right and wrong. Most of all I love the relationship between Eve and Roarke. I would have like to see more of Roarke in this book. I cannot wait for the next book.

More Roarke
