About this listen

A classic Western tale of good versus evil and justice versus vengeance, set in the hostile environs of 1873 Texas.

In this compelling adventure, Clay Barlow's idyllic way-of-life, in the Texas Hill Country, is shattered when he returns home to find his family savagely murdered. Clay must find the strength to grow beyond his 17 years.

After burying his loved ones, his search for justice takes him to the Rio Bravo and into Mexico. On his quest, he'll face death, find love, and strive to conquer his youth and inexperience. Will he live long enough to learn? Is he prepared to take a life? Did his retired, deputy sheriff father teach him enough to survive against experienced killers?

Ride with Clay Barlow. Experience his fears, his failures, and his successes, as he seeks to bring the killers of his family to justice, and become a man, along the way.

Good Western Story

Good western story with plenty of action and drama. Interesting and void of gratuitous profanity not quite as good as Louis l’Amour but close.

Good story

Really liked the story but did not care for the fake, exaggerated voices. Have always enjoyed Robertson's books.

Interesting western story

I enjoyed the western but agree the reading was not done well. I appreciate a good western without the vulgar language.

FORTY FOUR CALIBER JUSTICE

This is a great western. I loved the storyline. Clay's family has been killed and he goes on a revenge hunt to kill them all. This is one of my favorite storylines in the Western genre . Clay is only seventeen and he has a lot of growing up to do. He runs into all kinds of obstacles. He learns fast how to survive. This book is so good I can't put into words how much I liked it. I'll continue with the whole series. I like how Clay handles things. He's on a mission. Im interested to see what he does next. Scott Miller does a great job narrating this book. Thank u

Thank you for writing books that a 77-year-old Christian woman who loves westerns can read and not worry about the language or what you might describe.
