About this listen

Kaitlyn and Erik are sent on a mission to track down Vance Dasvoik, a ruthless monster. His latest thrill - abducting and selling young women. Vance's current victim: Aaliyah, a 17-year-old who never imagined walking her brother home from school one evening would change her life forever.

The mission quickly turns personal for Kaitlyn when she finds Aaliyah beaten, her mind and soul fractured from abuse of the worst kind. Kaitlyn knows firsthand what it's like to be haunted by the past and resolves to bring justice to the elusive Dasvoik.

Gruesome truth, I was hoping to find a love ❤️ story like the first one. But this was unexpected. I’m glad I read it and I want to read the next book. But I wish I would have read the synopsis. I will prolly wouldn’t read it. I’m a mom. And the thought that anything happen to my kid terrifies me.

Unexpected gruesomeness

This story is exciting and has great characters. It has all the feels but not all the feels are good. Some of the scenes with Victor literally made me feel ill. A little too much detail for me. I’m glad I read it but not likely to read it again. (Wish books had trigger warnings.) Looking forward to the third book in the series. Also, the reading performance is really well done.

Wow!

It's hard to listen to human trafficking scenes. But I think people need to be aware that it is still happening, and this definitely makes you pay attention.

Gut wrenching

Didn't know it was about human trafficking, sad but good story. It's scary to think it's a real thing.

This book was hard for me do to the sensitivity of the topic but I am amazed none the less and so happy I finished. It was a amazing read but as always covering sensitive topics like sex trafficking and rape is hard in any way you put it and can be a fine line to walk. It was amazing being able to read something where the person whom got hurt is able to grow stronger and move forward after such hardships. I also very much appreciated how while I was graphic enough to get the point accross it wasnt so graphic it ruined the book. Overall This book walked a fine line covering this topic and Id say it did it well. Id very much recommended for people to read this.

Amazing and Empowering Book.

This story was hard to listen to, insofar as the subject goes. Human trafficking is not something that is usually written about. The author did a fantastic job with this book and the narrator did a fantastic job of bring life and emotion to it. I spent the last handful of chapters crying off and on because of the emotion. Really good book and well narrated.

Heartbreaking subject

The story is just so heartbreaking. I had to skip several chapters. Makes you wanna kill people. Ugh definitely draws attention to the sickos out there that will soon get what’s coming to them.

Lots of triggers

well written addition to the story of Caitlin with romance, and suspense masterfully written into every chapter. Julian Crane has the ability to captivate me with her stories in a way I thought only possible when I read a book by Tracy Hickmond and Margaret Weiss. with a gift like this I cannot wait to start the next book by the new master storyteller that is Julian Chambers.

a new master storyteller has been found!
