About this listen

Survival is all that matters in here.

Still, it gets tricky when evil lurks around every corner, wanting to play.

To the arsonist, everything is a game.

Warren Xavier is Alabaster Pen’s resident manipulative liar. The former pretty boy prince of Manhattan’s elite is now locked away with the rest of us. Nothing but time to sit and stew, scheme and obsess. And I’m the unlucky soul he’s made the object of his cunning affections.

On the outside, I would never entertain the kinds of things Ren wants from me. Unfortunately, being trapped for so long in such a hellish place can wear down even the strongest of minds.

I’d be a fool to fall into his mess of lustful deviance again. After all, I’ve been burned before.

But that silver tongue is wrapped right around my heart. The next time his flames engulf me, I might let them.

Prison life can be fun when you hold the handcuff keys in your sullied hands.

My skills give me power over guards, prisoners, and pretty much everyone. I control these men without lifting a finger. Maybe bending at the waist. But not him. Not the one I truly want.

Lex “Luthor” Deon is too perfect to be rotting in this dungeon. He’s a hacker, a genius; a shimmering diamond lodged in a dreary black pit of decay. Sweet, loyal, and inexperienced.

In short, he’s way too good for me.

But I’m too stubborn and volatile to ever let him go.

I won’t allow fragments of the past ruin us. When it all comes crumbling down, Lex will have to make a choice… Risk everything, or play it safe.

Whether he likes it or not, he wants to believe me…But sometimes even I can’t tell when I’m lying.

Fragments is a dark MM romance set in the world of Alabaster Penitentiary. While it follows a new couple with their own HEA, it is recommended to listen to the rest of the series first to avoid spoilers and get the full effect of the Isle. The Alabaster Penn series is phenomenal. Luther & Ren are amazing characters with a great storyline. The audiobook is just as awesome as the book. The narrators voices and performances are top notch! This is a 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ audiobook to join the 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ book! Hot, spicy AF, intense, & totally gripping. Read this book!

If you've read any of the Alabaster Pen books, you know who Lex and Ren are already. From the previous books we got snippets of their relationship, but this book was so much more. It is told in both the past and present while dipping into what the future books may look like. I loved the twists, the crumbs that were left for the future of the group, and the cameos from my fav Doubled Edge characters.

3 minutes. It only took Nyla K 3 minutes to make my jaw drop. Every time I’m taken back to Alabaster Pen, I know it’ll always be a wild ride.

Lex and Ren were like toxic little magnets. No matter how much Lex wanted to hate Ren, he never could. No matter how much Ren obsessed over Lex, he was always just out of reach. Ren was the homie hopper of Alabaster and just amused me so much. He’s blunt, I’ll mannered, lies like hell, and is unapologetically him, a total fckboy. I loved it. Lex was more reserved. A good boy, always seeking a friend and companionship. Such a sweetheart. His golden retriever energy had me instantly in love with him.

When they finally decided to give it their all, it was 𝒻𝒾𝓇ℯ𝓌ℴ𝓇𝓀𝓈! I couldn’t get enough of this couple. They were so filthy and sweet together. I can’t wait to see what the next installment brings us because in true Nyla fashion, she always drops something crazy on us right at the end.

Devon Ryder and Harley Chase did a good job on the dual narration. Although, at times it was hard to tell the voices apart. But they definitely delivered on all the emotion and alllll the spice in the book.

Every book has gotten better and better. This is spicy but the characters and plot along with the overall series arc is amazing! So glad I found this, it should be more popular then it is.....

I hate waiting for last two books!

This was a long ride. Seriously, it’s a beast of a book. But pairing the audio with the physical book helped me stay immersed. Devon Ryder and Harley Chase did an amazing job bringing Ren and Lex to life, and honestly, I probably enjoyed the story more because of their narration.

Like the previous books, this one covers the same general timeline but gives us Ren and Lex’s perspectives and their five-year dynamic inside Alabaster really comes through. I loved Lex. He’s brilliant, loyal, and honestly way too good for the hellhole he’s stuck in. Ren... is complicated. He’s manipulative, dangerous, and often uses sex to push boundaries, and even though I’m not his biggest fan, I still found myself rooting for something between them. (And yes, still better than any of the guards…no love lost for Joy, Velle, or Rook.) The cameos at the end of Colson, Cyrus and Tauren were a nice touch.

I’m definitely curious where things will go next. I just hope Lex and Ren don’t get pulled back into that world trying to play heroes. After everything? They deserve some peace. But… knowing Nyla, I’m not holding my breath. 😉

Gah I loved Ren and Lex so much. Their push and pull back and forth banter was fun and sexy and devastating all at the same time. I loved that we got to see each of their timelines, even though we jump around a bit in time, we still get to see what happened prior to their getting to Alabaster, it’s a parallel timeline to the previous books so we get to see Dash and his prison break, and the development of Velle, Rook, and Joy’s relationship, and the carver and the psychologist, but we see all of this happening from Ren and Lex’s points of view. Nyla’s writing is just so good that she was able to weave this intricate web with all these characters and timelines and it is just so good.

Devon and Harley did so good. Individually their performances as Ren and Lex respectively were absolutely amazing. I do wish, however, that their voices were a little more different. It was hard to keep track of whose point of view I was listening to because the narrators sounded so similarly.

I love this whole series. No spoilers here but it went in a direction that I didn't see coming. This book includes Ren & Lex's point of view from what happened so far in the series plus so much more. It ends in a cliffhanger that makes me excited and anxious for the next book in the series. There are many unanswered questions that I'm sure will be answered in time. I just hope we don't have to wait too long, but if we do, I'm sure it will be worth the wait. Devon Ryder and Harley Chase both did a great job bringing these characters to life.

There is nothing about this book that is unlikeable. Back in AP, this book runs the parallel story line the others do. Ren and Luther are the focus on this book and their hurt/comfort is just beautiful. AP is falling apart, literally. Luther is building relationships and can't help but falling in love with Ren. Ren is smitten. But he's an addict. He hurts Luther but Ren's redemption is fantastic. These books are pure genius and Nyla K is queen.

The voice acting was next level in this book- Devon Ryder did an amazing job as Ren, but Harley Chase is effing OUTSTANDING as Lex & had me in stitches with his snark & tremendous interpretation of the script. And then there are those 🥵 scenes where he leaves you writhing in your seat… its Chase’s colourful intonations & vocal expressions that had me listening to “just one more chapter” whenever I had to re-enter my “real world”. He’s now my top male narrator & I’ll be consuming any other titles he reads.

Nyla K reigns supreme in MM romance IMO & I am obsessed with Fragments. Lex & Ren’s story had me constantly thinking about them as I went about my day. There was tension galore & wretched obstacles for the couple that had my heart in a vice at times.
Can I just say that the intensity in the love scenes is so freaking satisfying that it rivals even that of my favourite book of all time, K’s stellar “For the fans”! Yum, yum, yum!
I wouldn’t change a single thing, this book is perfection, and I simply MUST have the next installment.

PERFECTION 10/10 vocal performance - my new favourite!
