About this listen

The Amish of Summer Grove series continues, as Old Order Amish Ariana and troubled college student Skylar face the reality that nothing about their lives is what they thought to be true.

The second book in the Amish of Summer Grove series explores the changes in the Brenneman family, as Skylar joins them and Ariana navigates the foreign and undesirable Englischer world. Can she help the Nashes learn about the God she loves?

Tied together by an unexpected fire and the events surrounding their births, Englischer-raised Skylar Nash and Old Order Amish Ariana Brenneman are on a journey of identity and family in the Amish of Summer Grove series.

Fraying at the Edge

Was a very troubled ending, for me it was quite confusing. So many people to keep track of.Hoping the next book gets it all straightened out. Have the last one all set to start. Marilyn

Beware Cliffhanger

5 plus star rating reduced ro 4 stars.

Fascinating story of two young women, one a devout Amish woman relied upon by her many siblings, one a rebellious, upper/downer addict and marginal college student, who were switched at birth. The switch isn't discovered until they are twenty.

Each is forced to spend months with their biological family with NO contact with the family that raised them. Forced to live in the starkly different community of the other.

The author expertly developes the character, feelings, and emotional life changes of each woman.

Unfortunately, each of the first two books ends at a life-changing point. Running into these points without resolution has all wallop of a cliffhanger. While each cliff compelled me to purchase the next book, which proves how cliffs financially benefit publishers and authors.Tighter editing and willingness to publish a now unfashionably long novel would rate 5+ stars. Not doing so demands lowering it to 4 stars

So now what?

Very interesting book. Believable on what can happen with many young people. But where is book number three? Not even a message if it will be a trilogy? That is not fair to the reader!

Can't wait for the next book!!!

Kept my interest. Great at portraying both sides of a family and their dynamics. Now I have to wait until August!
