Publisher's summary

The show must go on...even when monsters are afoot.

Poet Parker is Romani by birth and a fortune teller by choice. As a member of Mystic Caravan Circus, she's spent the past 10 years using her psychic talents to tell people what their future holds by day and hunting paranormal monsters by night.

You see, Mystic Caravan is more than just a circus - it's also a force of good in a world that needs help fighting evil.

Poet is set in her ways - and happy with her life - until Kade Denton shows up and upends the entire operation. He's loud and proud - and Poet doesn't like anyone telling her what to do.

As the new head of security, Kade thinks his only job is going to be tackling drunken revelers when they get out of hand. He's in for a rude - and bloody - awakening.

When monsters strike and the truth comes out, Kade finds he has to learn on the job with Poet as his somewhat reluctant instructor.

Sparks are flying - both real and figurative - and when a truly terrible beast targets the circus for extermination, it's all magical hands on deck for the final showdown.

Some things are born evil, but the people in Mystic Caravan were born to fight it.

Prepare to be amazed.

Meh, just OK.

This was an OK book. Narrator was alright. It was a bit slow and there was a lot of “Luke, I’ll kill you, shit up Luke and Luke you better run”. Kind of annoying. I’m not intrigued enough to continue with this series.

I don’t care what anyone else says

I thought this book(s) was delightful. It was smart, uncomplicated and above all snarky and funny.
I’ve been looking for a series of books that I could lose myself in but not so cerebral that I couldn’t pull away from and listen to something else yet eagerly return to. I fell in love with the characters. They each have their own personality and acts upon their own desires.
I love Caitlyn Kelly (the narrator) and have followed her in many of the books she has been involved with.
Truly, I don’t think there is anything that I didn’t like and that would keep me away from listening to the full series again. Here’s hoping for another installment.

Quirky and fun

Where does Freaky Days rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I would put it mid pack as I have listened to some amazing authors as well as narrators. However, I find myself going back to Amanda M. Lee's books as they are humerous and fun

What was one of the most memorable moments of Freaky Days?

That would be giving away plots

Which character – as performed by Caitlin Kelly – was your favorite?

None specifically stood out. Good read

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

N/A

It's Entertaining

Good read. Seems to slip in and out of young adult fiction a bit often.

Awful child-like narration

Look, the story, overall wasn't bad; this is not a heavy-lifting book, just a fun light read. However, the narration just ruined an otherwise pleasant story. I don't know why Audible is plagued with so many female narrators who sound like over-caffeinated chipmunks (or extremely high-pitched pre-teens). It's not enjoyable to listen to, especially if one asumes that they are purchasing a book for adults. I hate leaving negative reviews, when the negativity is aimed primarily at the narrator; but, this is an AUDIOBOOK site - so, I do think that narration is extremely important in chosing to purchase a book in audio format. The main character is a woman in her 30's, so it's important (to me at least) to have her sound as such.

Get Your Freak On With Amanda!

Amanda M. Lee once again proves why she is worthy of the title of one of the queens of urban fantasy. I first became familiar with her work with the Wicked Witches of the Midwest series. This new series does not fail to satisfy the itch I developed from the aforementioned series. If you have a somewhat smart ass and snarky sense of humor, you will love her books. Cozy mysteries with a supernatural twist; what's not to love?

An interesting twist to the paranormal romance.

I hate that I am a bit of a "soup nazi" when it comes to finding books to read. I almost passed on this very interesting story line because it did not have a perfect 5 star rating. It would have been my loss, although I would have escaped being sucked into another interesting series. :)

Tragically immature book

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

An entirely different story line. The main character is supposed to be 28 yrs old, but comes across as an immature 14 yr. old girl. The narrator's syrupy, childlike voice does nothing to help bring anything redeemable out of this listening experience.

Would you ever listen to anything by Amanda M. Lee again?

No.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

Added to the pure stupidity of the book.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

none

Any additional comments?

spare yourself....

Childish

I purchased this book as it was a recomendation based on my previous purchases.

The idea is great but the execution sucked. These are suppposed to be a dults yet all their focus is on a teeny bopper romamce that seems more like grade school than anything. I would have expected this book to be written for grade schoolers if it wasnt for the occasional swear word.

Twilight was better than this and that says alot. i forced myself to finish the whole story in hopes the story would get more interesting....I was disappointed.

Move on...there is nothing for you here.
