I listened to this on the heels of listening to Goldberg’s WRITING DOWN THE BONES, the phenomenal work about developing a writing practice. This is a recording of a workshop Goldberg gave and it has practical exercises to try which will help people further cement the teachings found in BONES. It’s well worth the time!

Great little follow up to BONES

The quality of the recording is very poor, and I think almost any other of Natalie's books would be more illuminating.

disappointing

Freeing the Writer Within might have been a good book, but this tape is not very helpful for anyone wanting to start writing. There might be 15 minutes of substantive information and the rest is listenting the class read their writings. There is even a several minute pause while the author has the students complete an exercise. I was very disappointed.

I hope the book is better
