NYT best-selling author Carrie Ann Ryan continues Lyric’s prophecy in this breathtaking sequel to From Flame and Ash.

In her quest to unlock four of her five elements, Lyric has watched those she loves fade into ash and ruin. Bearing the weight of much loss and heartache, she and her team try to regroup and journey back to the only home Lyric has left - the Obscurité Court.

With the future uncertain, and the one person who could help her control her new powers missing, Lyric has never felt more lost. But as the pieces begin to come together in an epic unveiling she wasn’t prepared for, she’ll have to remember why she was called upon to become the Spirit Priestess in the first place.

The King of Lumière wants revenge for his lost brother, but he also wants so much more. With a missing king, a lost prince, and a few unexpected allies, Lyric will have to battle more than one enemy, and face countless unanswered questions with regards to a prophecy previously lost to the Maisons

This book has it all

From Spirit and Binding hands down has it all.

I don't think I have ever been on the edge of my seat, cringing and yelling things into the ether like I can change what is coming. Or bring it on faster. I read and listened to this book and you have to listen for the full effect. It allowed me to bite my fingers and fidget while chaos was erupting around my favorite characters.

I can honestly say I laughed, cried, smiled. Both narrators did an amazing job. They kept me leaning in and I could not stop listening.

Go read this series, you won't be disappointed! <3

Great continuation of a great story

Lyric has just had an epic battle, Easton is gone, and Rhodes may be dead. Things are not what they seem for Easton and Lyric. Easton has been taken and is trying to get back to Lyric and those he needs to protect to help Lyric with the prophecy and getting her fifth element as well as trying to figure out what to do about the curse now that he knows more about it.
There is heartache in this story for so many of the characters but what I love is the gang never gives up. They always stick together and friendships are formed where enemies used to be. I can't wait to see what is next in store for Lyric and Easton and the rest of the gang.

Who will win?

I've never really been into fantasy, and YA, but I'm really enjoying this series. The characters seem to be maturing and working together as a team instead of against each other. The realms are divided, yet the royal families from both have switched sides and are fighting for what they believe in. There are traitors on both sides that must be weeded out in order for good to prevail. Add in the mystery of the Gray and you don't want to put down the story.

The question remains: What will happen to the crystals and the realm? Will they unite and heal or will they divide and die? Only the last installment of this series knows. And it can't come soon enough.

This is only the second book I have listened to by Bailey Carr and Holter Graham. The first being the first book in this series. I feel they embodied the characters and threw themselves into the story. The raspy voice of the Gray and his minions. The wise and tired voice of the seer. Both are perfect for these roles.

Oh Lyric!

There is awesome world building and every time Lyric gets closer to becoming the Spirit Priestess the more the story tangles. With his mate lost somewhere she has to fight along with her allies. She has a very difficult task and I can’t wait for it to finally happen and everything unravels. It’s gonna be great. Love the narration too.

Absolutely amazing!

4.5-stars!

The Elements of Five series by Carrie Ann Ryan is different than anything I have previously read from this author and I loved it. I do not normally read fantasy fiction, and yet I got lost in these stories. Narrated by Bailey Carr and Holter Graham, From Spirit and Binding by Carrie Ann Ryan, the third book in the series, was captivating from start to finish. I loved the characters and their story so far very much. We start where we left off in the previous book and dive right in. Lyric is on her journey and we start to see how it all fits together but know there is still so much more to come. As characters begin to work together, we see twist and surprises at every turn. This was an amazing audiobook and the narrators truly brought the story to life for me. I am excited to see what comes next in the series.

Happy listening!

The twists and adventure keeps coming

This is the third book in the series and it is not a stand alone. We rejoin Lyric on her journey to become the spirit priestess. I loved the twists and turns for the characters in this book. Things become more intense as she comes into her powers and continues on this journey with her friends and allies. I don’t know what to say without giving something away and I don’t want to spoil a moment for anyone. Epic fights for the realm and hopefully they will be able to save it.

The writing is fantastic and the story is coming towards its finale. I don’t want this adventure to end but I cannot wait to see how it does. Five ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ stars.

These two narrators do a fabulous job. Adding a second narrator for this book for the other point of view was great.

We Meet The Gray

At the end of FLAME AND ASH Lyric and her allies had just fought a battle with the Lord of Water who used bone magic to kill so many including his wife and then his son Rhodes. Easton had disappeared before her eyes and she has no idea if he's alive or dead

As this book starts Lyric and her surviving friends/allies are trying to come to terms with their losses, to regroup and attend to their wounded. Lyric has lost so much but then so has everyone involved in this battle. But with Easton gone how will she control her elements?

Lyric knows that Easton is her soulmate, but he was pulled from her after telling her he could never love her, how is she supposed to go on? Easton has been taken by The Gray, it's not the first time this has happened but this time Easton learns things he needs to know, things which may help him survive this and help Lyric with her task.

There are so many twists and turns in this third book, but I can't tell you too much about them without giving away spoilers, which I will not do. Suffice to say that both Easton and Rhodes are far too important to have left Lyric so soon.

I was engrossed in this story with all its twists and turns as Lyric became stronger and things started to fall into place. More of the prophecy is revealed to Lyric and she is warned that she will have to face sacrifice and loss for the prophecy to be fulfilled.

Easton and Rhodes and their Lumière and Obscuritè Kingdoms now have to work together if there is going to be a future for either of their realms. But what about the King of Lumière, will he agree? Easton, Lyric and Rhodes's relationship has changed so much since the start of this story.

This third book is heart-wrenching, action-packed, enthralling and engrossing and ends on yet another dramatic cliffhanger - one which just left me saying NO!

This book is narrated yet again by the talented Bailey Carr who lets us know exactly what Lyric is thinking and feeling but this time we also have the story from Easton's point of view narrated so well by Holter Graham. I admit I did like the dual perspective very much.

I was given this audiobook as a gift and am voluntarily writing my review.

Great story!!

This installment of this series was a much awaited for addition. Now things are coming together in this action packed installment for Lyric but I was left with wanting more when I finished. With the new knowledge, Lyric must protect those who are close to her as well as the realm. I enjoyed the return of the characters from the previous books as this tale continues and I look forward to the next installment so that I can see where this story will go next. Overall. I would recommend that these books be read in order but I recommend them to others as well.

How much can Lyric lose?

Will Lyric finally gain all 5 elements? What more will she lose to become the Spirit Priestess? Will she find her true soul mate? All these questions are answered and more! The great story continues and the ending will have you on the edge of your seat!
