About this listen

Surviving the apocalypse—one secret at a time.

Inheriting their grandparents' property after their parents' death, Penelope Geller and her brothers find an unlikely sanctuary—a bomb shelter. This heart-pounding EMP thriller charts their struggle for survival, brewing tensions, and startling revelations in a world that has lost its power.

The Coldest Night

During the coldest winter on record, an EMP sends America back into the Stone Age. Jack and his family find sanctuary in their cabin in a small, remote town, hidden deep in the forest. Little does Jack know the blizzard will be the least of his problems.

I thought maybe this was a series of writing contests submissions. After an hour into the first story I was hoping someone would ace Penelope. The second story I had similar feelings. And the third story I shad to put it down.☠️

My review

Way too wordy -goes into too much of what characters are thinking and detracts from story.

Poorly written.

I love this genre, but there are so many writers who keep pumping out schlock - in this story the husband has a bullet proof Humvee in his storage shed that his wife didn't know about. Really? I call bull on that. Why is it so many of these stories are about people heading to their homestead in the mountains. Tiresome regurgitation of the standard formula for an EMP book.

Another unrealistic fantasy about uber prepared
