Heretics, loyalists, planetary bombardments, collosal warriors wielding chain axes. what more do you need to know?

Not as good as HH1 or HH2

The first two were so good, and the close of what could be the first trilogy (sort of) ends up being a disappointment by comparison. That said, the final arc is well worth the wait, even if the build up is a bit eye-rolling in places.

Epic, brutal, beautiful, and heartbreaking.

"None can stand against the power of the Warp!"
"Yet here I am."

This book is without question the most badass thing I have ever read. This series is just one wonderful plot point after the other. The writing is just as superb as the previous two books and the narration seems to have somehow improved. Even already knowing the eventual outcome of the battle beforehand, I couldn't bring myself to pause the book for a second. That's a sign of amazing storytelling.

I wish I had no Warhammer knowledge coming in

This was fantastic space opera/science fantasy. I wish I had no fluff knowledge coming in. I enjoyed every moment.
