Gambling Problem? It’s never too late...

Exceptional and really hits home. If you have a gambling problem, or love someone with a gambling problem, you should read this. Lance goes in great detail what started out as a few innocent bets, into what became a life long challenge. The gambler mindset, why it’s hard to “just walk away”. How it impacts your loved ones. It’s a life long challenge. Sign a self exclusion agreement. Read books like this. Understand that only in the casino are the odds stacked against you. Life is not meant to be against you. If you are reading this make your own luck. Strive for that promotion, read and always keep learning. Do something to better yourself everyday. You are worth it. You have a purpose. Gambling changed my life. It has caused me a great amount pain and self inflicted suffering. One day at a time. Make good choices. That’s how you beat the odds. Enjoy this book and remember it’s never too late. Thank you Lance for your story.

Excellent read!

Stayed interested in this book from
from beginning to end; which is saying something for me! Content flowed very well. As a reformed gambler myself, was able to follow the author’s every account of each experience. It was all so relatable. Highly recommend for everyone to read. If you are not a problem gambler or don’t know one, chances are you will someday and would benefit from hearing this well written account. The narration was awesome as well. Kudos to the author for sharing his extremely honest experience.

Just What I was Looking For

Fighting my own demons, I needed to hear someone else’s story. I needed to hear a story of hope. I needed to be able to relate. My friends and family don’t understand “the zone” I enter when I get to a casino. For me, it’s hypnotic and I’m out of control. I could relate to just about every word of this book. I could see myself escalating over time like the author. I am going to seek treatment in my area and even may try the hypnotic therapy the author recommended. I was pretty down on myself, but now I feel like I can do this.

A must-read for anyone curious about gambling

The material contained within this book is surprisingly human.
It is a raw, honest look at a young man's life being put openly on display.

The story contains extreme emotional points on both ends of the gambling spectrum.
As someone with a passion for gaming, I listened to the audiobook intently over the course of 2 reading sessions.

One of the earliest impressions the book leaves with us, is how winning a lot (and often) during the early periods of our gambling careers can shape our relationship with casinos.

This book takes the time to remind us how quickly the tides can turn, and when our good fortune leads us into living a life of luxury - we will do anything to preserve our lifestyle. And when our personal history has taught us "no worries, I can always go win some more money" it becomes not a matter of IF but mostly a matter of WHEN.

I encourage you to read this book and see for yourself how easy it is to be absorbed into a world designed to cultivate the behavioral thinking of "more More MORE".

I have had the privilege of speaking with the author and am really glad to see how he is turned his experience with casinos into a career. I am proud of his accomplishments and really happy to learn that he has also found success with hypnotherapy as a treatment to curb an overwhelming desire to gamble.

If you or someone you know is struggling with problem gambling, please consider listening to this story and appreciate the words contained therein. You don't need to feel guilty about gambling, but appreciate that the system is designed to sweep you away in a moment of carelessness. Be vigilant and keep it fun. Avoid chasing a loss. Read this book.

Shockingly compelling, relatable, humbling.

This guy gets it. Lance's story was very similar to mine, which shocked me really. There's an art to how the tone shifts with his problem, and I am personally putting the suggestions to use to hopefully curb my own addiction once and for all. There's a realism to his approach that normally is replaced with glazed-over 'joy' in most recovery books. Richard was an excellent narrator, he really injected the dialogue with the emotions I would expect from Lance.

What a waste

This guy just wants to hear himself talk about what a big deal he is. There is literally no point to the book, except listening to his binge drinking and gambling college days. Story ends, he still gambles. Cool story bro. Maybe give it a different title?
