About this listen

Travis Bennett is exactly the kind of guy Lauren Davis has been avoiding for the past nine years. Religiously. Stubbornly. Successfully. She knows too well how easy it is to let lust ruin perfectly laid plans. And a small-town farmer with no ambitions beyond the borders of his own cornfield is not going to change her mind. She's got important stuff to do. Her company is literally working to stop world hunger. Her plans are much bigger than Sapphire Falls. No matter how hot those farmers might be.

The problem is - Lauren is falling in love. With Sapphire Falls. To kick her sudden desire to buy a welcome mat and start baking pies, she asks Travis to help her get over her crush. She wants him to show her what life in the small town is really like behind all the sweetness and sunshine and remind her that there's no place for French manicures and Gucci heels on the farm.

Travis has everything he wants or needs - a quiet, simple life in his hometown, a successful farm, and his friends and family all around. A hoity-toity city chick who looks down on everything from the local coffee to his favorite music is the last girl he wants sticking around. So he agrees to her crazy plan. He can definitely show her the less than glitzy, rough around the edges side of Sapphire Falls. In fact things just might get downright dirty.

You should know that this book contains a hot country boy who talks like a country boy (yep, all the bad words), a sassy city girl who also talks like a country boy sometimes, sexy scenes that don't leave much to the imagination, references to bisexuality, references to many facets of small-town living, and a lot of dirt...of all kinds.

Great Stories

I’m loving the stories in this series. If there was one constructive criticism that I would make; it’s that I just wish they were narrated by a male and female.

Letting go of the past and finding home

I loved, loved Travis and Lauren’s enemies to lovers, opposites attract, fake relationship, small town healing romance. This is heartwarming and spicy story with intense, strong and passionate characters. Travis is a farmer from small town Sapphire Falls. He is one of four boys and his family has farmed the same land for six generations. Lauren is a genius soil and water conservation expert who works for IAS based in Sapphire Falls. She lives in Chicago but travels all over the world. Lauren is afraid that she is starting to love Sapphire Falls too much and decides she and Travis should fake date so she will learn to hate small town life again. Travis is up for the temporary steam and the banter but the feelings underneath the overwhelming attraction start to seep in and take root. They do not want to like each other but feelings rarely stay in the boxes we try to keep them in. Travis and Lauren’s journey to their HEA will give you all the swoony swoons while also pulling at your heartstrings with all the emotions. The book was well written and included witty dialogue, three dimensional characters who grow, and an engaging storyline with sweet moments, spicy scenes, supportive friends, imperfect characters, painful pasts, missteps, and all the big feels. I am excited to binge this whole series.

Kate Udall did a good job narrating the story and characters into life with enough change of inflection, tone and cadence to voice multiple characters fairly convincingly. 4.5 stars.

Finally!

I am an avid listener and before I listened to this book I listened to 6 books that were not good. I was so excited this book was good! The hero and heroine were very believable, the storyline held my interest from beginning to end, and the narrators were wonderful. My faith in Audible has been restored, FINALLY!

Perfect meeting of opposites

Really enjoyed how the main characters were presented and how their relationship and personalities clashed, until they didn’t. Great build-up for the relationship you know is coming. You can’t wait until they just stop fighting the inevitable.
Thought Kate Udall did a great job giving individual personality to each character’s voice throughout the story.

Steamy story

Lauren is a city girl, although she did grow up in a small town, who is determined not to want to live in Sapphire Falls. Travis is a born and raised farmer in Sapphire Falls and can’t see himself ever leaving. When Lauren convinces Travis to help her not fall in love with the town, no one told them not to fall for each other. I really enjoyed this book and was steamier than the previous books. Great read.

There's heat with Travis and Lauren

I've never listened to this author before and I really enjoyed this story of Travis and Lauren. The narrators were wonderful And gave depth to a story of 2 people who at first sight were attracted but resisted.

Lauren is the Best

I loved Lauren immediately in book one (her kiss with Adrianne lives rent-free in my mind). I was pleasantly surprised to see a bisexual heroine. I would have read this series much earlier had I known. It wasn’t brought up a lot, but was handled well, in my opinion. It was a bit confusing that she went from mostly into women to mostly into men in her own book. Yet, I get it: Travis was HOT! From the drawl to the cleanliness, the man was practically perfect. And smarter than he let on. The fact that Lauren could go from elegant to dirty and back made her even more awesome. There was a ton of chemistry between them, made better by all the banter. I have to admit, like Lauren, that Sapphire Falls is growing on me too.
