Publisher's summary

A small-town fake-relationship romantic comedy.

Josh Landry is one of the hottest bartenders in New Orleans. He’s shown many a female tourist that things are definitely big and easy down here. And he’s now been celibate for a year. Because he finally met her.

Yes, her. The One.

But after nothing more than a hot good-night kiss and a promise to meet up again next year if they’re both still interested, she went home to Iowa.

It’s been a long year.

But now it's Mardi Gras again, and he's ready for his happily ever after. If she shows up. Oh, she shows up. For her best friend’s wedding. But Tori is a terrible bridesmaid because all she can think about is her knight-in-shining-Mardi-Gras-beads from last year. Well, and because she accidentally lays a hot kiss on her BFF. A.k.a. the groom.

Unfortunately, no one believes that it was a case of mistaken identity. So now she has to convince everyone she has no intention of ruining the wedding. She's going to need a crazy-about-her boyfriend ASAP. Even if he’s just faking it.

Well there's only one other person she knows in Louisiana...Josh is all in. In fact, he's thrilled. And he's not faking anything. But the groom isn't faking his sudden case of cold feet either.

And now Tori might have a choice to make.

Fun story

I really enjoyed this book. Josh is a bartender in addition to helping with his family business. Tori is a veterinarian from Iowa. They meet at Mardi Gras and are pulled towards one another, but decide if there really is something between them, the would meet next year at Mardi Gras. Tori is in New Orleans for Mardi Gras and looks to meet Josh’s, but she is also there for her best friend, Andrew’s wedding. I loved how Josh accepted Tori for who she is from the start and how she gained confidence. I also loved all of Josh’s family and their craziness... can’t wait to see more of them. This book makes me want to go to Mardi Gras to find my own Josh. I loved the narration and the southern drawl for Josh.

First story I listened to by this author

I recently met Erin Nicholas when she was a zoom chat guest over in my little book club. I wanted to begin to listen to her stories. This one was highly recommended. I am familiar with Amanda so that was also a bonus! Enjoyed my 2nd story narrated by Neill Thorne. Loved the sweet story. They all brought the story alive from the first page until the end. Looking forward to learning more about all of the side characters.

Fake boyfriend but real attraction

This was such a great story. The stars lined up and the promise of “meet me here next year” almost happens. You can hear the emotions in the characters voices. I love the setting and the back story of Andrew & Tori but I love how Josh believes in Tori even more. Definitely recommend and want to listen to the rest of the series.

Awesome Listen!

I was pulled into this book, My Best Friend's Mardi Gras Wedding from the very beginning. The premise of the book is cute and the storyline flowed so well. I loved how the characters interacted and had chemistry. The imagery was awesome and the humor a plus. I could envision so many details. Erin Nichols wrote a great book and I can't wait for the next one in the series. Amanda Stribling and Neil Thorne were great bringing the characters to life with their voices. Audiobook Obsession thank you for recommending this book to me!

Laughs, Heart & Swoon

This is a book that will make you laugh, melt your heart and make you swoon. A fun storyline is combined with a lovable cast of main and secondary characters to create a truly delightful read. Tori and Josh will quickly pull you into their world and have you actively rooting for this couple. Josh was simply amazing. A genuine good guy, he is filled with charm and is smoking hot! Tori was smart, kind and a bit quirky. Their chemistry was atomic and the pull between them so easy to feel. This wonderful tale offers laugh out loud humor, intense emotions, steam, sweetness, family hijinks and romance all rolled into one perfect package that will have you ready, willing and eager to head back into the bayou just as soon as you can. This audiobook features dual narration, which is what I prefer. I found both voices to be pleasing and felt that their performance was excellent. Audiobook Obsession

Fun and Flirty Book with a Cute HEA

This was my first book by the author and was excited to dive in as the premise seemed fun and flirty and stories set in New Orleans always seem to have an aweosme vibe. I couldn't wait to see what was going to happen after Josh and Tori took a chance on meeting up a year later if the feelings were still there.

I loved Josh's character from the start. He didn't really pull any punches and just pretty much laid everything out there. I also really loved his family. I overall really enjoyed Tori's character and think she had a great heart and loved her love of animals, though I did struggle at times with her friendship with Andrew as it seemed like he wasn't a great friend at times.

There were some funny parts to the story and overall the book was fun and flirty and low angst. I loved that Tori and Josh were able to get their HEA and I would definitely check out other books by this author in the future.

This was my first listen by Amanda Stribling and Neill Thorne and overall I thought they both did a pretty good job. I would definitely be interested in checking out more of their work in the future. #THEFLOCK #PINKFLAMINGOPRODUCTIONS

Did not want to pause!

This was the best book I've read of Erin Nicholas. I was laughing through out. I really loved this storyline and it was well written. The characters were great. Who wouldn't want to belong and be loved like these people?!? I look forward to reading more about them in this series!

Editing to add that I've just listened to the audiobook! It was just as good as, if not better than, reading it! I once again fell in love with the characters and world that Erin Nicholas has created. I'll be reading/listening to the rest in the series!

The narrators, Amanda Stribling & Neill Thorne, are amazing. Their performances were almost perfection. Neill had a great South Louisiana accent for Josh in this book at times. The others weren't as noticeable. Amanda didn't get the accent down for the male parts, but she is still a fantastic narrator. Both are easy to listen to. I didn't want to pause the book! Looking forward to more from these two narrators in the future.
