About this listen

For the past dozen years, Victor Bayne has solved numerous murders by interrogating witnesses only he can see - dead witnesses. But when his best friend Lisa goes missing from the sunny California campus of PsyTrain, the last thing he wants to find there is her spirit.

Disappearing without a trace in a school full of psychics? That's some trick. But somehow both Lisa and her roommate have vanished into thin air. A group of fanatics called Five Faith has been sniffing around, and Lisa's email is compromised.

Time is running out, and with no ghosts to cross-examine, Vic can't afford to turn down any offers of help. An old enemy can provide an innovative way to track Vic's missing friend, and he enters into an uneasy alliance - even though its ultimate cost will ensnare him in a debt he may never manage to settle.

Very entertaning book

This book was unsurprisingly good. I had such a great time listening to Victor and the mysteries he had to solve in this instalment. He’s such a charismatic character. I loved everything about him.

The mystery is the most important part of the story. I did miss a little bit of the romance I love between Jacob and Victor but I love the way their relationship is going. They seem so comfortable with each other. I also enjoy the secondary characters who are always very entertaining. One of the things I like the most, not just about this book but every book in the series, is the humorous tone it take at times.

The narration is great. I’m not really a person who likes audiobooks that much, but I start the series in audio and now I don’t want to switch to ebook because I feel so captivated by the way the narrator tells the story. It is so easy to understand the change of characters. I do have an issue listening to it because English is not my main language and there are times when I missed some important things but that’s on me, the story is really well narrated and overall very enjoyable.

This series is an automatic download for me. Victor 's thoughts are so 'off-the-wall!!!' Jordan is s very talented author & where she comes up with this stuff is beyond me & beyond funny & entertaining. Well worth a credit.

Loved the listen…want to shake Vic!

Vic’s normal paranoia turns out to be very well justified, but he keeps looking in all the wrong directions! I really enjoyed the twists in this one and as always love Gomez Pugh as narrator. He does such a good job bringing each of the characters to life.

GhosTV- That's the Spirit

I am always so pumped when a PsyCop novel/audiobook comes out. I've been waiting for this one with baited breath as it is the longest in the series and I could listen to Gomez Pugh all day...and night. I even warmed to Dreyfuss; as sleazy as he is. The characterizations were on point and Victor and Jacob remain my favorite m/m couple evah. Still, I wanted more Crash and Ms. Mattie as well as more of Jacob's family. Already can't wait to get the next one. Thanks Jordan and Gomez 👍🏽👏🏽🌈

No situation comedies on this TV

This book and the one just before it are the two best in the series so far. If you haven't read the previous books in Castillo-Price's series GHOSTV would make little sense , but if you have read them Ghostv with its frightening and tense scenes will keep you listening. Ghostv also has belly laugh quips throughout which help lighten the stress filled story.
Enjoy but watch at your own risk.

Even better than the last one

The characters are developing more complexity, as are the plots. Interesting series. This particular installment was pretty compelling.

Steam. Med-low. There is M/M sex on page but not often. It seems to regularly go by the wayside toward the ends of the books.

Narration: continues to be excellent & high quality.

Rescue mission

Narration is amazing (again), and I enjoy and appreciate that so much!
Next to Victor, Lisa is my favorite character, so I was all-in for a rescue mission.
I liked the new discoveries made in this story, and that we get to know some people better (Dreyfuss among others).

Some small dislikes :
I thought the (psychic) action scenes were a bit difficult to follow.
And IRL and in stories, I really dislike people lying for whatever reason (even if it’s ‘for your own protection’… maybe especially if it’s supposedly ‘for you own protection’) and I don’t like this continues to be the main thing that causes friction between Victor and Jacob.

I got this Audio Book for free (thanks!). I'm voluntarily leaving this review.
Opinions and ratings are my own and not influenced by how I got the Audio Book.

Must Read Series!

This was another excellent addition to this series.. We get to see Victor gain a few abilities and the return of the GhosTV as they attempt to figure out what is going on with Lisa.

As usual the plot is crazy twisty and hard to put down. The men are crazy hot and I can't help but love Victor's wittiness while panting over Jacob's hotness and the way he cares for Victor.

Gomez does an excellent job of narrating once again bringing live to the already great book written by Ms Price.

Can't wait for more of these characters especially after the little surprise we get at the end!!!

I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Inked Rainbow Reads.

This is about being athletic and Vic's hair :P

Okay, is not, but is kind of a running theme during the whole the book. A remark done by Jacob's sister has Vic wanting to be more athletic. Well, not really wanting-wanting, more like being sarcastic about everybody's else athletism :P And Crash give him an awesome hair-cut and he looooooooooves it. As Jacob does, too.

But the real problem here is that Lisa has gone missing from PsyTrain, and Vic and Jacob are more than ready to go to California and investigate... and so does Dreyfuss. Who just happens to be in the airport when one of the drug dogs goes berserk at Vic, and the airport guards decide that Vic needs a more thorough search, Yeah, you can imagine how well that will go, don't you? But instead of a security officer, is Dreyfuss who shows up. And a deal is made: a charter flight to California in exchange for an exorcism, and Dreyfus presence at PsyTrain as the investigation goes on.

The three of them find that Lisa's roommate has gone missing previously, and while they are there, two more disappearances happen: one of the teachers and the shaman who helped Jacob to get rid of the ghost of the Criss Cross killer.

Vic finally! gets his hands on a GhostTV, And okay, is Dreyfus who got it, and is Dreyfuss too who managed to 'extract' the instructions to make it work. But hey! gift horse and all that!

And, thanks to the GhosTV, he and Jacob had awesome astral sex, they discover Jacob's cool psych power and Dreyfuss' freaky one. And we (and Vic) discover how insecure Jacob feels about Vic's commitment to their relationship. I think it was here when I really accepted that Jacob was the best thing that could have happened to Victor. I know, I know, it took me a long time, but I eventually got it, didn't I? :P

And I also think that yes, Dreyfuss has his own agenda, but he is also trying very hard to keep all the psychics safe. Which is a cool consequence of the fact that, when astral, everybody is Carolyn, and has to be truthful. I love that, I really, really loved that! And Vic is the only one who can remember what happens there, yay!

Oh! and we also get to know yet another ex-Camp Hell: Faun Windsong. Who has also changed her name, and is now Katrina Wojtowicz, and the girlfriend to Chekotah, the shaman.

The plot is fantastic; the characters keep getting better and better; we see how Vic is growing and beginning to deal with all his emotional baggage, and, well, just listen to it! Because this is simply fantastic.

And let's not forget about Gomez Pugh, who keeps doing a superb job narrating this series :)

Big shift in the series with lots of new discoveries for Vic

This book marks an interesting turn in the series. Lisa goes missing and Vic and Jacob fly out to CA to try and find her. In the course of the investigation Vic learns lots of psych things he doesn’t know and tons about his own abilities. Plus quite a few things we have assumed from previous books are turned on their ear.

As usual, Gomez Pugh’s performance perfectly conveys Vic’s attitude and personality.
