Publisher's summary

"I absolutely loved this book and didn't want it to end." (Liane Moriarty, number-one New York Times best-selling author of Big Little Lies)

Seven perfect days. Then he disappeared. A love story with a secret at its heart.

When Sarah meets Eddie, they connect instantly and fall in love. To Sarah, it seems as though her life has finally begun. And it's mutual: It's as though Eddie has been waiting for her, too.

Sarah has never been so certain of anything. So when Eddie leaves for a long-booked vacation and promises to call from the airport, she has no cause to doubt him. But he doesn't call.

Sarah's friends tell her to forget about him, but she can't. She knows something's happened - there must be an explanation.

Minutes, days, weeks go by as Sarah becomes increasingly worried. But then she discovers she's right. There is a reason for Eddie's disappearance, and it's the one thing they didn't share with each other: the truth.

A compelling read with several twists!

This book was very well written until it got to a suspect section when it devolved into badly written histrionics. Two startling twists saved it and the ending once again rang true and was well written. Many lovely lyric passages about the natural settings in England and California were part of the pleasure of this read. Many fine and intriguing metaphors raised this romantic thriller to the level of literary fiction.
I read this book based on Lianne Moriarty’s recommendation.

Enjoyed the twist ‘

I enjoyed this book but I thought that they revealed the twist that it started to drag a bit.

I did enjoy it a lot though!

A little slow at first but then you want to know

I didn't know what to expect from this book. I saw it on the shelf in the Amazon store and thought it seemed like it would be interesting for this day and age, so I went home and downloaded it. It wasn't what I expected and it was a little slow at first, but once I got into all the characters I couldn't wait to continue thru the chapters to get to the end. I was hoping for a little more excitement as it went on but it stayed pretty clam. In the end it was nice journey to a tame ending. I enjoyed it.

So-so

Overall, I enjoyed the book, but did not LOVE it. The beginning of the book had me super engaged & I loved the story’s concept, but I felt as though it was dragged on. It was fairly exciting and kept me engaged but the ending was so/so for me. I enjoyed it, but I wouldn’t say it’s my favorite.

All facts are open to interpretation.

Mark Twain said, "It ain't what you don't know that gets you in trouble it's the things you're sure you know that just ain't so."

This book is magnificent.
Rosie Walsh's story was compelling and clearly written, then something would happen and my understanding of the facts of the story was turned on its head. I never felt misled, or confused. The author always told the facts I just came to the understanding that I had assumed something while reading that just wasn't so. The pieces of the puzzle would then shift and as a reader I'd say there now I have it, feeling proud of myself and then I'd read on.

As an avid reader I was amazed at Rosie Walsh's ability to write in such a way that I continued to be surprised.

I will enjoy reading this book over and over again.

Would have benefitted from 2 voices

Great story, held my interest to the end. I think having a man read the male read Eddie's part would have been less confusing. I had to keep reminding myself this was not Sarah after so much of the book from her perspective.

Beautifully and artfully written gem!

I was captivated from the beginning. There was so much depth, so many layers, so many moments of sadness, but so many more moments of joy. I wish this author would keep authoring and that my new favorite narrator would keep narrating. Thank you for this book!
