About this listen

Samantha Davidson sees ghosts for a living. More specifically, she sees ghosts as a private investigator, working alongside the Chicago Police Department to put away killers and put troubled spirits to rest.

When the daughter of one of Chicago's wealthiest families turns up dead, Samantha and her assistant Mark team up with homicide detective Lance MacDowell to get to the bottom of the crime.

Allison Allen is tall, blonde, beautiful - and very much dead. As Samantha interviews the girl, who doesn't remember anything about the circumstances of her own murder, it's clear that there's more going on behind the walls of this manicured home than anyone wants to let on - and that Samantha has her work cut out for her this time.

Juggling her own love life, tracking down troubled spirits, and evading attempts to thwart her investigation keeps Samantha on her toes. Good thing Samantha knows how to keep her eyes open, her wits about her, and her sense of humor.

A paranormal mystery that is both dark and funny, Ghosts Among Men will cause chills to run down your back even while you're laughing out loud at the lovable, strong, and supernaturally sighted private investigator Samantha Davidson.

Great Story!

If you could sum up Ghosts Among Men in three words, what would they be?

Clever. Exciting. Spooky.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Yes, I loved trying to figure out who the murderer was along with Samantha.

Have you listened to any of Sarah Grace Wright’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I've never listened to her.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I laughed out loud a few times

Any additional comments?

This was a fun read and I'm looking forward to more in this series!

Great mystery and paranormal story!

Ghosts Among Men
A Novella
By: Laura Del
Narrated by: Sarah Grace Wright
This was not only a great mystery but also a great paranormal story! It has some suspense, humor, ghosts, murder, a hint of romance, great characters, good mystery, and wonderful plot.
Samantha is a gal that can see ghosts and makes a living off it. The Chicago Police uses her services to solve some cases if they get a bad one and this one is! A billionaire's daughter is found dead and there are no clues. Sam is asked to help. She has already been asked by the dead girl and then her father! The case gets very dangerous indeed!
The narration is terrific too!

This is amazing and I loved it.

If you could sum up Ghosts Among Men in three words, what would they be?

Creative, nerdy, coolbeans.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Ghosts Among Men?

When Laura del used a doctor who reference it made me giggle and tell my friend about it, because not many people do that in their writing.

Which scene was your favorite?

My favorite scene was when they finally got the wife because she annoyed me to no end. Which proves how great this was.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Nerdy detective, catches the bad people.

Any additional comments?

I can't wait for possibly more of these because i have really enjoyed the first one. I have reread three times so far including the voice over four. I love the wit and combined seriousness of the characters and the obvious research that went into it. Her character really comes to life and i feel like i have made a kick butt knew friend.

FANTASTIC!

Loved it, definitely enjoyed the writing style and it was nice to hear descriptions from the Female Gaze rather than the Male, hope to hear more of this.

Good needed refining (Contains Spoilers)

The name of the cat being "Voodoo" seems offensive since it's the name of a religion similar to Islam, Judaism, or even Christianity.

The fact that main character is christian is only shown at the beginning and end of the story if she was raised in a religious environment like she said, it should show more in her actions during the story.

The sage burning isn't catholic holy water is. Sage is used by spiritual practitioners such as natives and witches.
Please do more research. It'll show up quickly if you Google it.

The main characters were all described as handsome and beautiful which limited their character. Literally had to keep track of the 2 guys as handsome secretary and handsome detective. Give them defining features other than the color of their hair and eyes. I have no mental image of any of them and after finishing the book I forgot their names.

The nerd character didn't need to exist he did nothing to the story he could have been a no named land lord.

The romance was okay. I liked the dead girl she was fun sad to see her room being all pink and extremely boring even people who have pink rooms have some things that stand out at least a band, an animal, or art. Those add dimensions to their character.

Having the main character be saved was boring. A lot of stories that came before did this so it's expected, break our expectations.

The narrator was great, I enjoyed the voices they gave the characters. They made it very compelling.
