Publisher's summary

In a time when technology can reveal the darkest of secrets, there's only one place to hide a crime of passion - in the heart.

The first victim was found lying on a sidewalk in the rain. The second was murdered in her own apartment building. Police lieutenant Eve Dallas had no problem finding connections between the two crimes. Both victims were beautiful and highly successful women. Their glamorous lives and loves were the talk of the city. And their intimate relations with men of great power and wealth provided Eve with a long list of suspects - including her own lover, Roarke.

As a woman, Eve was compelled to trust the man who shared her bed. But as a cop, it was her job to follow every lead...to investigate every scandalous rumor...to explore every secret passion, no matter how dark. Or how dangerous.

Crack another case with Eve Dallas.

Great read!

Just started reading Nora Roberts under this pen name, a colleague recommended her. What a great mixture of mystery, suspense and sci-fi. I enjoyed the character Eve. I've already purchased the next five books in the series.

Fantastic read

Would you consider the audio edition of Glory in Death to be better than the print version?

I am an avid reader, but listening to the In Death series read by Susan Ericksen makes it feel like I am in the story.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Eve is my favorite character because she is a strong woman who overcame a horrible childhood. She didn't let the nightmare of her childhood turn her into that kind of adult.

Have you listened to any of Susan Ericksen’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I enjoy listening to Susan reading this series.

Is there glory in death?

"Were to hide a crime of passion - in the heart. .

I love this couple! Eve is complex with many dark corners in the baggage she carries. Roake's is mostly a good guy who seeps into her life. Even when she doesn't think she needs it, Roake helps her whenever he can. With her usual deft hand, D. J. Robb gives the reader/listener all one could desire in a good mystery.

The reader does much justice to each character! I especially that of her junior office, Peabody!

Not sure

Any additional comments?

I read a few of the later books, now I'm starting at the beginning and working my way through in succession.

A solid installment!

Another great In Death book. Susanne Erickssen does a really good job narrating. The audiobook is actually about thirty minutes shorter, the audible title includes a preview of book three.

The story continues and it is good

Eve and Roark continue to simmer. One of the series' most beloved characters, Peabody, is introduced. And the murders of strong women begin. The series grows stronger with each book. This is one of my favorite series. I have listened to all 40 plus books and have now started over while waiting the requisite 9 months to a year until the next installment. The stories are gripping and the narrator, Susan Ericksen is one of the best. She is the voice of the in Death characters and nobody could replace her. In my opinion, it is her voice coupled with JD Robb's writing talent that makes this series such a success.
