For the K Team, playing "good dog," "bad cop" is all fun and games...until there's a body on the scene, in the next K Team Novel by bestselling author David Rosenfelt.

The K Team enjoys investigating cold cases for the Paterson Police Department. Corey Douglas, his K-9 partner Simon Garfunkel, Laurie Collins, and Marcus Clark even get to choose which cases they’d like to pursue. When Corey sees the latest list of possibilities, there’s no question which one to look into next.

Corey’s former mentor, Jimmy Dietrich, had his whole identity wrapped up in being a cop. When Jimmy retired three years ago, his marriage quickly deteriorated and he tried–and failed—to get back on the force. Jimmy was left to try to adjust to life as a civilian.

Not long after, two bodies were pulled from the Passaic River. A local woman, Susan Avery, and Jimmy Dietrich. With no true evidence available, the deaths went unsolved and the case declared cold. This didn’t stop the whispers: an affair gone wrong... a murder-suicide committed by Jimmy.

Corey never believed it. With this case, the K Team has the opportunity to find the real murderer, and clear Jimmy’s name. Bestselling author David Rosenfelt returns in Good Dog, Bad Cop, where there’s little to go on, but that won’t stop Paterson, New Jersey’s favorite private investigators from sniffing out the truth.

Critic reviews

“Appealing. . . The complicated, fair play mystery presents just the right amount of difficulty for the keen-eyed reader to solve.”–Publishers Weekly

All the good dogs

This book gives you more time in the Tara/Simon universe. What could be better?
This book also develops side characters, like Pete Stanton. Another credit well spent

Too many characters

Maybe I’m just getting old but I found this plot a bit unmanageable with its complexity and number of characters. It was fun and interesting even though I had a hard time keeping track of who was who.

Intriguing

Follow the cases closely, don’t forget a single clue! You will need the clues through the twists and turns to a climatic finish that you could not predict! Awesome book! Keep up the good work Simon!

Fun characters, great reader/actor

This is similar in layout to the Andy Carpenter books- a spin off with a different focus. Enjoyable with some twists.

Feed the dog adequately please!

Please stop feeding Simon Garfunkel vegetables!! A k9 cop dog should be eating raw everything!!
Other than that loved it!!

You need a scorecard

I liked the way the novel move through the investigation, but I was overwhelmed by names. I couldn’t keep track of. I had to go back many times to figure out who was who I don’t know how this could’ve been solved, but it was very disconcerting.

Give it a 5 out of 5.

very well written and read. Did not see how the case would tie together and end.

Skip it

I should have listened to the reviews. I love Rosenfelt read/listened to all his books but the last two have been disappointing. Too much of nothing in this book. Simon’s storyline was the most believable and easy to follow along. . Corey is not a good main character. Narrator is boring.

Not my favorite

I’m a big fan but this was confusing and disjointed. Was hard to track storyline. Conclusion seemed very contrived.

Not my favorite.

Not as good as his previous stories. Characters not interesting. Andy Carpenter series stories are much more entertaining.
