Generic ... lacks tactical insight

This book never addresses how to handle the inevitable question,
“How /why did you leave your last position?” ... or “ Have you ever been fired?” Some of the suggestions as to how to “stand out” from other applicants are unrealistic. Although I agree that LinkedIn and other such sites can be helpful, it is nearly impossible to identify the name of a Hiring Manager. Companies direct applicants to apply via their career web site. Working with a recruiter can be a good “end;” however, it is crucial that a person is well equipped to overcome the emotional deficit that firing creates. Logistically, practically.... how does one tackle this effectively?
