Publisher's summary

In Earth's distant future, Tyndel is both teacher and mentor, a staunch devotee to his conservative and rigidly structured religious culture. Then a rogue infection of nanotechnology transforms him into a "demon", something more than human, and he is forced into exile, fleeing to the more technologically advanced space-faring civilization that lies to the north, one that his own righteous people consider evil. Although shaken by his transformation, he has the rare talent required to become a space pilot. What no one, least of all Tyndel, expects, is his deep-space encounter with a vastly superior being-perhaps with God.

Philosophy delightfully snuck inside a fun science fiction tale.

I enjoyed the changing of perspective the main character goes through. The imagined history and technology was believable and well built. I recommend this story for fans of classic science fiction like Asimov, Herbert, and Heinlein.

Should have been a short story

Reminiscent of LEM Jr's Haze. Takes too long to get to an unsatisfying end.

Introspective sci-fi nano tech

I have read a few of the authors fantasy books. So it was a treat to come across this one. This was more a look at humans and their psychology. Interesting space travel and nanontech but it was an interesting look on a persons perspectives and how they can change with different events. How we fool ourselves to see what we want. I really enjoyed it. It is slow and not action packed which was a nice change for me but be warned. Thank you for this book of gravity dreams.

creative scientific shirk

Midesitt mixed philosophy, science fiction, and religion to create an enthralling drama from the point of view of a "demon".

Great storyline with too much philosophy.

It was enjoyable but as someone who doesn't agree with even the fundamental tenants of what the author believes, it was hard to suffer through the blatenly faulty logic and heavy handed doctrine. I recommend this book if you are post modern in thinking and Buddhist or hindu in religious persuasion.
