About this listen

She's been to the universe's prison planet, why not check the black market off her bucket list next?

Life at Nyx's Station has been a little tense of late. There are the fugitives she's hiding, the Harvester of Worlds she still doesn't know what to do with, and then there's the ex-boyfriend she's been avoiding. So when someone from her elusive past shows up in Earth Between, Nyx jumps at the distraction—and the chance to finally get some answers.

The only problem is, her childhood friend Seth has no intention of answering any of those questions. When he portal-jumps to the forbidden Shadow Market, it should be a guaranteed escape from a Station Guardian, but Nyx's altered bond with her Station means following him is a possibility. One she has every intention of making a reality.

Her newfound friends insist on coming with her, and really, what's the worst that could happen from taking three ex-Enforcers, two Amazons, and one Tiagren shifter to the universe's most notorious black market planet?

By all the stars, thank you!!!!

WARNING the thing that i love most about this series is a spoiler and i am planning to gush/vent about it.

FINNALLY!!! A strong female character that doesn't let the control freak "alpha" male walk all over her and even kicks the douche to the curb instead of giving into his demands and justifying a bunch of shitty behavior, because he's "tragically broken" or some such crap. I cannot tell you how tired i am of finding interesting romantic fantasy books that are ruined by the male lead treating the female lead like an exotic pet and the female just letting it happen and still staying with him at the end. There is compromise in a relationship sure, but the moment the male lead becomes one of the obstacles the Female lead needs to navigate around, i start to feel like i am going insane for not having a f--king clue for why everyone else seems to think this is not only acceptable behavior, but also romantic? It's not. It is obsessive and abusive and i will never get why so many women call it love.

Sigh, i am not naïve, there is probably some path that Kaden can take to redeem himself, though i really hope it doesn't happen. It was very cathartic to see him get the dressing down he deserved. Best of all it was done not through miscommunication, but through Nyx making a real effort to understand kaden's reasoning and her telling him in no uncertain words her own point of view. NYx clearly stated the things he had done wrong, Kaden just wasn't willing to apologize for them or take any reasonability for his actions. Nyx's grievances were also quite legitimate, and Kaden acted as though they were things she just needed to get over. So yeah i was incredibly surprised and thrilled beyond all words, when she not only stood her ground but made no attempt to justify his crap. I applaud this author most fervently.
