About this listen

I hate myself for craving the panty-melting demigods.

But my awakening power is volatile and destructive. Only they can prevent me from turning into a ticking bomb.

When Lucifer's heir breaches the wards of the Academy to kidnap me, the sea demigod, my sworn enemy, uncovers my hidden origin. Instead of exposing me, or, worse, leading the Dominion army to hunt me down, he leaves a trail of dead bodies behind to protect my dangerous secret.

Contains mature themes.

I cannot wait for the next book to come out. Great story with a surprising twist at the end. The main character is awesome, she's strong willed and a bada$$.

Great Book

Loving this origin story, I still have more questions and theories even as we gain answers. I can’t wait to indulge in the next book!

The plot thickens!

I love how you never know what to expect from one moment to the next. Love all the characters. Fast moving book and doesn’t drag on. Well done. Onto the 3rd book….

I enjoyed this book. I want to get to know the back story of the Demi Gods. Hopefully that will be more in the next book.

Enjoyed it

At first, I was upset over the narrator change, but it worked out really well. Just like in the first book, the FMC does 99% of the narration and there's only one chapter with male narration, of which I'll never understand the point of. I wonder how much they paid the male narrators for these < 5 min chapters per book. The story itself was awesome too. Its well written to keep me more interested in the story than any sexy time. Of which there is minimal, with a good amount of the best insults I've heard in a while. Can't wait for new one!

Just as good as the first, narrator change good to

I love this story and went ahead and listened for that reason, but the narrator seemed to miss that Hector is French, not from England.

missed the last lady narrator

The primary problem with this book: invasion of the body snatchers. The h (Marigold) was a COMPLETELY different person. It was explained away by saying her new, intense, ancient magic may have also released a bit of her primordial evil. But it was seriously off putting. She divides in order to conquer her own harem 🙄 and gets rather entitled. Marigold's personality was the only thing that sold me on book 1; her sass, her defiance, her concern for her friends and 'coven'. But all that was gone. And the plot was too cookie cutter to hold my attention on its own.

A lot of reviews I read complained about all the pet names and the juvenile behaviour of the demigods, but that didn’t bother me at all. The names were cheesy, but I'm pretty sure their sickly sweetness was supposed to contrast the h's (justified) viciousness towards her nemesis demi-god Paxton (aka Pigston).

The new female narrator does a better Hector, but makes the heroine sound soulless.

Not reading book 3.

meh... I should've quit after book 1
