About this listen

Christian Booksellers Association best-selling author Kristen Heitzmann is a Christy Award finalist whose riveting novels deftly combine inspiring messages with spine-tingling suspense.

Alessi Moore is driving across the country, looking to make a fresh start. When she pulls into the idyllic town of Charity, she is captivated by a halo around the sun. Perhaps Charity is exactly the place she has been searching for. Then her car and all her possessions are stolen, and she must rely on the townspeople to get by. She finds shelter, work, and even a potential love interest named Steve. But in this place where everything seems perfect, the locals harbor a dark and dangerous secret.

An utterly compelling tale that explores the boundaries of faith, Halos is a fresh and exciting work of inspirational fiction. Katy Kellgren's dynamic narration enlivens each aspect of this multifaceted story.

Light story with some mystery, perhaps best for a older teen or early twenties reader.

Sweet Story

I have read this book 3 times over and listened to it 3 times now. The reader does a very good job narrating just the way I imagined it as I read it myself. The story is timeless and addictive, and brings me hope brand new each time. I hope there's a sequel out there, but it is perfect just the way it is.

My addiction

I've listened to just enough audiobooks to know that many narrators are not truly up to the job. Katherine Kellgren is not only better than all I have listened to so far, but she even is capable of singing when there are songs. (Perhaps this is minor, but to me, it takes away something if a song is in the text and the lyrics are just spoken). Her voices and intonations are all perfect. She reads ahead, unlike a number of narrators, so she knows how to speak a line before the text indicates what emotion, etc, is needed.

This story is one of Kristen Heitzmann's best, filled with the mystery and faithfulness of God. Her novel contains excellent characterizations, realistic faith conversations, and redemption fills the pages.

Fabulous narration of a fabulous book!
