About this listen

This edition of Hamlet is an adaptation of Shakespeare's eponymous play The Tragedy of Hamlet, Prince of Denmark.

Set in Denmark, the story dramatises the revenge Prince Hamlet is called to wreak upon his uncle, Claudius, by the ghost of Hamlet's father, King Hamlet. Narrated in plain modern English, capturing the very essence and key elements of Shakespeare's original drama.

Don't be fooled by the name on the cover. This is NOT a reading of Shakespeare's masterpiece. Rather it is a spoken precis of the plot. Very disappointed.

This is not the reading of Hamlet what a let down. Sounded like a computerized voice.

Poor cliff note

This is a 12min summary, with a mediocre reading. That this isn’t titled appropriately especially in Amazon where it is featured on the same page a full text printed version of Hamlet is infuriating.

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

The only people interested would be students too lazy to read the play, or even listen to the whole thing.

Would you recommend Hamlet to your friends? Why or why not?

Absolutely not. I suspect this is a robotic reading, as the pronunciations of the names were very artificial. Audible should be ashamed of selling such a shoddy product.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

robotic mispronounciations

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

Awful.

Any additional comments?

how do I get a refund for this rip off?

This sounds like a robotic reading of Cliff Notes
