About this listen

What if all you want is the one thing you can’t have?

First grade teacher Emily Towson always does the right thing. The sensible thing. But in her dreams, she does bad, bad things with the town’s baddest boy: Tanner O’Connor. But when he sells her grandmother a Harley, fantasy is about to meet a dose of reality.

And then he goes and calls her “sensible”...

Tanner can’t believe sweet Emily is standing in his shop. Yelling and waving her hands and looking so god damn sexy he’s having trouble focusing. He’d spent two hard years in prison, with only the thought of this “good girl” to keep him sane.

He really should send her away...

Before either one thinks though, they’re naked and making memories on his tool bench with apparently the oldest condom in history. Now Tanner’s managed to knock-up the town’s “good girl” and she’s going to lose her job over some stupid “morality clause” if he doesn’t step up.

But can this bad boy teach his good girl they’re perfect for each other in time?

Okay story

This was okay story. It was easy listen and good for few hours escape. It was a little long and at times, I got bored of hearing the hero’s negative inner dialogue. As always, I loved CJs performance. Even though I didn’t give high rating, I would still recommend it.

sweet story

the small town bad boy and good girl accidentally get knocked up and this is the tale of how they work around the small town interference, their own insecurities to get to the hea. I listen to some books and hate to pause for life, this was not one of those. But I did enjoy it anbd wish the rest of the series would come out. Tanners single brothers would be interesting mc.

Opposites totally attract!

A light fun listen that will have you laughing and hoping they finally get it together and kick the small minded towns butt! It's worth listening just to hear about the coolest grandmother ever!!

when the town good girl turns baaad

1st grade teacher, Emily Towson, is the quintessential good girl of the town. She lives with her grandmother, obeys the rules, dresses demurely, and dates a banker...but when her boyfriend proposes marriage because she's 'sensible', Emily becomes incensed and does an 'un-sensible' thing! Emily goes to the bike store of the O'Connor brothers to give Tanner O'Connor a piece of her mind for selling a 'hog' to her grandmother...and does a whole lot more!
Tanner O'Connor accepted responsibility for vehicular manslaughter in the accident that killed one of his best friends, and was convicted to 2 years in prison. Of course no one knows that thoughts of sweet good girl Emily kept him sane in prison.
Now he's back and is running a bike shop with his brothers, and doing his best to stay under the radar. When he sells a bike to Emily's grandmother, Tanner has second thoughts once she leaves and tears up her check and cancels the order. Tanner is not expecting Emily to barge into his shop after hours...and, after a heated discussion, ends up stripping for him.
Several weeks later and Emily and Tanner are expectant parents. Tanner surprises Emily when he insists on being part of their child's life...although he's fighting his insecurities about his parenting abilities. Can Tanner and Emily survive the ups and downs of pregnancy, as well as define their relationship, while Emily is fighting the town council to retain her job since she broke the 'morality' clause? Whew, judgy people in a small town...just saying!
There is also a sub story of blossoming love between Emily's persistent grandmother and Tanner's former cell mate, who is trying to settle into town after serving his 30+ years of prison time.
This book is about forgiveness, second changes and acceptance. It is well written, full of humor but also mixes in some poignant moments. I am really looking forward to more stories from Saddlers Cove.

Emily

This book would have been worth the read if Emily would have been hit by a car in the end and Tanner and the baby lived happily ever after. That’s how horrible Emily is. She’s mean and manipulative. Why would anyone write a heroine like Emily is beyond me. The Author didn’t write a strong female lead she wrote a weak child throwing tantrum after tantrum. Seriously skip this book.

DNF - Good narrator, terrible FMC

I only made it to chapter 10 and just couldn't handle it anymore. I've never hated a female MC for quickly. She's prejudice, disrespectful, inhumane, and all around terrible to the male MC for zero reason. She may want him but all her interactions and thoughts, and even open treatment of him indicates she thinks he's trash and not worth being treated as a human being. They may be influenced by her town and the people there but jesus have a backbone. Got tired of her high and mighty snobbery and just couldn't even root for her character development. It's a shame because I LOVE CJ Bloom and this is one of my favorite tropes but the characters need to be at least likeable for me to finish the story.
