When Lady Esme Byron happens upon a gorgeous naked man sleeping beside a secluded country lake, she can't resist the impulse to sketch him. But when her highly improper drawing is mistakenly revealed at a party, she finds her once-pristine reputation in tatters.

Gabriel, Lord Northcote, may be a notorious rakehell, but he is still stunned to find himself accused of despoiling a duke's sister - especially since he's never set eyes on her. When Esme's six irate brothers demand a hurried trip down the aisle, he has no choice but to comply. He thinks that he can forget about his inconvenient bride, but Esme Byron is no ordinary woman, and Gabriel is about to learn just how unforgettable she can be.

I was so looking forward to continue this series but the narrator changed. This changed ruined the story! The narrator was like a robot. When she read the male parts she totally ruined the visual of these characters from previous books and narration.

Great story ruined by robot narration

I'm going to have to go to print on this book, narrator was almost child like with emphasis on pronunciation that it felt like English isn't her primary language. Can't finish audio but know T.A.W usually spins a lovely tale, hated to see it slaughtered in audio

narrator blues

Narrative speaks at such a slow pace i had to speed up the recording. Still sounded like she was reading to children If it wasn't included with my subscription I'd ask for a refund as is i can understand why it was free to subscribers. Shame because the book before it in the series has a good narrator

Horrible narrator

This is one book I wish I would have read rather than listen to the narrator. The story line was good but it was painful listening to it. I would have preferred the narrator not try to change voices for the different characters. She was choppy, inconsistent, and whiny. I was never certain which character was talking as the voices never stayed the same. It sounded almost like a robot was narrating the story. I will certainly stay clear of this narrator in the future.

Robotic Narration

Suggest listening to this book at 1.25 speed. The other reviews are right that the narrator is very robotic and slow. The faster speed helps a lot. As for the story, I was excited to read little Esme’s story since she was so young but interesting in the previous books. The main characters are both likeable. The book wasn’t amazing or awful. It was very much like the other TAW books I’ve read...Enjoyable without being super memorable. Definitely worth listening to on a day of cleaning or projects, but I wouldn’t have listened to it if it wasn’t part of the escape package. I’m not sure it would be worth a credit.

Do yourself a favor

I have read the all of the Byrons books in order and have enjoyed each. I have been pleased that TAW has given each family member a very different story. Of course through the first few books it was obvious that all of the brothers were in love but each not willing to say the words. I am also done with the phrase " Have you not" it becomes grating hearing it repeatedly. Beyond those complaints I have enjoyed the stories, all of the H/H and the strong family references. The sex in all of the books has been hot and I look forward to the main characters finally making their commitments.

The narrator for books 1 - 5 was Rebecca De Leeuw, she did a marvelous job giving the characters separate voices and making the voices appropriate for the character. That was for the series the Byrons of Braebourne. The second series, the Rakes of Cavendish Square each have different narrators. I was not very happy with Barrie Kreinik probably just an adjustment on my part, but on Esme's story, Charlotte Anne Dore was cringe worthy. I don't want to be mean, she has a lovely reading voice however when she goes into characters voices she literally killed my love for Cade, Edward, Jack and Drake. Her pronunciation of words and names also threw me off. I liked Happily Bedded Bliss but nearly did not finish it due to the narrator.

Since I have read all but Lawrence's story, I will complete the series and hope that Beverly Crick (I have liked her in the past) can bring back my love for this family.

Good Story for Esme

I'm usually very sceptical when I see lots of reviews about narrator being bad. I typically still enjoy the book and don't get put off by narration, but this narrator was awful. She sounded as if she should have been narrating a children's book, not a romance. She made Kade sound like a munchkin from the Wizard of Oz, passionate seems were spoken with little to no emotion, and everyone sounded like children or robots. it really made a good story hard to finish.

Horrible narration

This new reader is a disaster. She sounds like she is reading and doesn’t do it well. Her voices are terrible also but the general awkwardness of her rhythm is total misery. I listened anyway but hope other authors don’t use her

why does it have to have prono for love scene instead of a real loving scene? Really! Sex is better left to the reader's own thoughts not written in dirty sex scene.
