About this listen

From Wall Street Journal and USA Today best-selling author M. Robinson, a coming-of-age, enemies-to-lovers contemporary romance filled with angst and all the feels.

I couldn’t remember a time before her...Harley Jameson.

Before she owned me.

Hated me.

Needed me.

Before I hated her....

Things were simple.

We had an understanding.

Bully. Fight. Hate. It’s what we did.

Mind. Body. Soul. It’s how we loved.

I thought nothing would ever change that, until everything did.

She was mine.

Always had been.

Always would be.

Nothing altered that.

Not how much I hated her.

Not how much she hated me.

Especially, not how much I hated...that I loved her.

Can’t wait for the next book!

Loved Harley and Jackson!
This is their story from childhood through mid- teenage years.
These two as kids were definitely a handful. What Jackson went through with his mother was gut wrenching and for Harley with all her hate to be the one to put the hate aside to be there was so sweet.
This is a duet so the ending of book one is not a happy one. It was like reliving all that heartbreak as a teenager all over.

The narrators were also amazing.

Need Book 2 Now!

The first chapter into this and I knew I’d fall in love. Pulling pigtails on the playground is the ultimate enemies to lovers. I was torn between wanting to hurry up and listen to this and slowing down so it wouldn’t end so soon. Witty banter, pulling pranks, and even shedding some tears. It’s got it all and I want more!

An Original, Well-Written Story! Great Narration🎧

I went into this book not knowing a thing about it, except that M. Robinson wrote it and that was enough for me. I was not expecting it to be what it was, so it kind of blew me away, in a good way, a very good way. The story is original and unique in the way it was told. It grabbed my attention right from the start and held it hostage the entire book, it tugged on my heartstrings too. Jackson Pierce and Harley Jameson lived next door to each other and their parents were friends, but they never were friends, it was more of a love/hate relationship, or as Harley put it in her letters, not love. Their story is told with glimpses in to their life in different time periods over the years, and their relationship was quite an angsty one, from childhood angst to adolescent angst. Those first few letters, the parents made them right to apologize for their behavior and how they treated each other, were a riot, Harley always had a way with words. Jackson was more of a planner with his revenge, but Harley always needed to win or get the last word in, or so she thought. Both harbored other feelings for each other but kept them at bay, and she was there for him when his life was turned upside down and whenever he really needed someone. Yet, he always pushed her away, despite not really wanting to, but in the end it did not matter, he lost her before he could ever have her, and it was his own fault. There is never a dull moment in this book, it is a wonderfully plotted story and there is plenty of drama, angst, witty and charming humor, heartfelt emotions and young love, not love. The world building and character growth are fantastic too. M. Robinson, thank you for this fantastic story and emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧And for the wonderful narration,Iris Ashley and Michael Norman Johnson did a fabulous job portraying these characters and did so with a complete understanding of their personas, giving each a voice that suited their character and was believable in every role they played. Ashley grasped Harley’s youthfulness and grew with her accordingly and Johnson did the same for Jackson, both handled the angst and snarky dialogue perfectly and were great performing the roles of the secondary characters too. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the character’s emotions and projected them into their performance. These versatile voice artists are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for the fantastic listen.

amazing

M. Robinson has written an angsty love/ hate relationship.
the emotions throughout this amazing story are deep. A rollercoaster ride throughout.
Harley and Jackson are frenemies, always at each other's throats..One trying to outprank the
the other.
This had me laughing at what depths their jokes have gone, to crying
when disaster effects Jackson's family.
Michael Norman Johnson and Iris Ashley are the perfect actors for this story.
They capture the essence and personalities of each character. they both make this audio an exceptional story to listen to.
I was gifted this audio and offered my honest review. Thank you for bringing this amazing story to life.

Not what I expected

Overall, I liked the story but there were a few things that had me scratching my head. I’m excited to see where book 2 takes us. The narration was great by Iris Ashley and Michael Norman Johnson

Gripping

This dark romance is so well written incorporating the psychological and emotional devastation of dementia on families, most especially for those left behind. Harley and Jackson have a tenous relationship their entire lives. The fine line between love and hateis evident in their dynamic relationship. The narrators did an exceptional job of bringing this book to life. I can’t wait to listen tobook 2.

Lots of angst

I really liked this book. The narrators are new to me and I thought they portrayed the characters well. I enjoyed their back and forth pranks and banter. Sometimes it was over the line and broke my heart a bit for them. I’m a hit and miss with angsty books. This one has me ready for book two. I want to know what happens. My heart broke for Harley at the end. I’m ready for Jackson to smarten up!!

not a love hate relationship

Ooohhh...I enjoyed this one.

The storyline was good and the characters were good ... I thought Michael did a great job on the male narration, but I didn't live Iris's female narration as much. This was a quick listen with a cliffy ending. It was kind of a dark storyline, but a good one.

Love!

I really enjoyed this book, wish they didn’t end the book off with a cliff hanger. But I can’t wait to for book 2 and how their love story grows

What a ride

Wow this book was sooo good! It had me laughing at the antics of Harley and Jackson as they were growing up! The very beginning of this book had my jaw dropping and listening to how we got there through the book was the best. The banger they have was the best but the emotional support that came during tough times really shined to show how much they actually cared. I so can’t wait for book 2. Iris and Micheal did amazing at narrating this book <3
